Next, we will explore the Etz Haim Synagogue, a symbol of resilience and the enduring spirit of the Greek Romaniote Jewish community. Then it's a short walk to the Holocaust Memorial of Greek Jews. At a bit of a lighter pace, we will visit the flea market and learn of its origins while searching for hidden gems. Continuing our journey, we will walk by the Ancient Greek Agora, that is believed to behold the oldest synagogue in Greece. Before the end of course we will see the Jewish Museum of Athens. Topping off our tour, we will eat a wonderfully catered meal at a kosher restaurant.

A Breathtaking Day About 1,000s of Years of Jewish History in Greece
We often like to take Jewish themed tours in various cities we travel and this is a DO NOT MISS tour. Angela was excellent at communicating beforehand. It was a perfect blend of ancient to modern Jewish history with some emotional and breathtaking moments hearing about the bravery of Jews in Greece during Hitler’s reign of terror. We laughed, we cried, and we learned so much from her. We also were able to tour a couple of synagogues with Avi which was equslly amazing. Angela also gave us lots of other history along the way. She was relatable, brilliant, and really made us feel so very welcome in Greece. Book this tour for sure!

Interesting history of the jewish people in Greece. Akis was very knowledgeable guide. Would like to see Jewish Museum closed till 2027 for renovations.

Fantastic private tour of Jewish neighborhood

Very interesting tour of Jewish life in Athens. Great to hear that Jews here feel very safe today. As elsewhere in Europe, horrifying to see and hear what the Nazi’s did to the Jewish Community and others, but grateful to the many Greeks who helped the Jews escape and took them in
