07Apr3026 Jamestown Tour
It was really nice to have a private tour guide who could tailor your experience. We found that it was good to have someone take you through the Jamestown museum and highlight important displays and facts. She was very knowledgeable and presented information in a logical manner that was easy to follow.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! It was a pleasure tailoring the Jamestown experience for you and highlighting the stories that bring it all to life—I’m so glad it felt clear and engaging. Wishing you a tour-iffic 2026, and I hope to see you again!

This time VIATOR sucked
Bambi never showed or called. Customer service couldn't find her either. Two hours later, as were did Jamestown on our own, she called with her excuses...(my assistant was supposed to call). It was shut down by the government. (NOT TRUE). I had my 87 year old mom with me and because of her she really messed up out day.
Response from the operator: Hi Kimberly, thank you for your feedback. I’m very sorry your experience didn’t go as planned. Unfortunately, the National Park Service site at Jamestown was closed that day due to the federal shutdown, and Jamestown Settlement had also closed its outdoor living-history areas early. Because of these unexpected closures, I immediately issued you a full refund and offered to guide you through the portions of the site that remained open at no charge. I always aim for guests to have the best possible visit, and I’m happy to help you plan a future trip when everything is fully open again without charging you as your guide. Please feel free to contact me directly if I can assist further. And, again, I'm sorry about the confusion with the National Park being shutdown and our state museum closing early, Bambi Walters, Best Williamsburg Tours

Expensive and Rushed tour
I recommend doing the tour on your own. The amount we paid for a private tour was not worth the money we spent on it.
Response from the operator: Hi Dale, Thank you for sharing your feedback. I’m sorry to hear the tour didn’t meet your expectations. I always want guests to feel they received full value, and I offer a refund anytime a guest is dissatisfied. Since I wasn’t notified of any concerns during or after the tour, I wasn’t aware you were unhappy—but I’d be glad to talk with you further and help resolve to your satisfaction. I appreciate the opportunity to make this right, and, again, I'm sorry that the allotted time of 3-4 hours wasn't enough. With kindness, Bambi Walters Best Williamsburg Tours

Why this scores 55
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Jamestown Settlement & Glasshouse - Private Guided Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Williamsburg.
How much does Jamestown Settlement & Glasshouse - Private Guided Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $195 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Williamsburg usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Jamestown Settlement & Glasshouse - Private Guided Tour take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Williamsburg is not rushed.
Is Jamestown Settlement & Glasshouse - Private Guided Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 17 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Williamsburg, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Jamestown Settlement & Glasshouse - Private Guided Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Jamestown Settlement & Glasshouse - Private Guided Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Jamestown Settlement & Glasshouse - Private Guided Tour?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Williamsburg can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Williamsburg and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Jamestown Settlement & Glasshouse - Private Guided Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Williamsburg within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Williamsburg?
+
Williamsburg centres on Colonial Williamsburg passes, Jamestown and Yorktown history tours, lantern-lit ghost walks and theme park tickets a few minutes away. On Outty we rank every Williamsburg experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full Day Historic Guided Tour to Jamestown and Yorktown with Lunch, Magic Happens at The Wagsters Magic Theatre, Williamsburg Ghosts, Witches and Pirates Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Williamsburg?
+
April to June and September to October. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Williamsburg?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
