Colonial Williamsburg Capitol Building
Experience the many ghosts of this old colonial town that are still seen today. Learn of the hangings of Blackbeard's crew and what happened to Blackbeard's skull. Did our forefathers really drink from his skull? Stand right where Grace Sherwood, the most famous witch, is often seen during mock trials in the Capitol and hear of her fate, finally pardoned by Gov. Tim Kean after centuries of being called the Witch of Pungo. Learn of Anne Bonny and Mary Reed (a woman posing as Mark Reed) who were aboard Calico Jack's ship and fought like men. Top it all off by going to the Jones Graveyard, where Ida Jones still haunts the graves today, in the late-night hours.

Ghosts, witches & pirate walking tour 8/26
This was an informative tour. He talked about myths, legends & history of Williamsburg while making sure to include about ghosts, witches and pirates. It wasnt too scary for kids but did include a lot of standing & walking. It started to rain during our tour but we agreed to still continue and was glad it stopped. The tour guide was great, very animated & knowledgeable. It was well worth the time & money.

Great evening nice long walk lots of fun guides were great -Gracie and the Pirate
This tour was really fun! Our group came upon the tour last minute as it was waiting to begin. We booked and it was well well worth the $20! The tour guide Gracie made everyone take part in a fun way (not pushy) and we got a lot of steps in that’s for sure. We enjoyed it and we recommend it as a great way to learn a little history, laugh and meet people from all over.
Response from the operator: Thank you so very much for that awesome five star review. We are so glad you had such a great time on your tour with Gracie and Mr. pirate! They are one of a kind. Gracie loves when everybody gets involved and has a spooky fun time history mystery and fun. That’s what she calls it. Safe travels. She is also Elizabeth on the history tour. If you ever want to do a fun history tour she gets you involved in the history too. Safe travels ! Sincerely Chris.

Williamsburg Ghosts, Witches and Pirates Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Williamsburg.
How much does Williamsburg Ghosts, Witches and Pirates Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $25 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Williamsburg usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Williamsburg Ghosts, Witches and Pirates Tour take?
+
Plan for about 1.8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Williamsburg is not rushed.
Is Williamsburg Ghosts, Witches and Pirates Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 87 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 612 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most highly reviewed in Williamsburg, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Williamsburg Ghosts, Witches and Pirates Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Williamsburg Ghosts, Witches and Pirates Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Williamsburg Ghosts, Witches and Pirates Tour?
+
Around 214 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Williamsburg can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Williamsburg and add a light layer if any part of the 1.8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Williamsburg Ghosts, Witches and Pirates Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Williamsburg within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Williamsburg?
+
Williamsburg centres on Colonial Williamsburg passes, Jamestown and Yorktown history tours, lantern-lit ghost walks and theme park tickets a few minutes away. On Outty we rank every Williamsburg experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full Day Historic Guided Tour to Jamestown and Yorktown with Lunch, Magic Happens at The Wagsters Magic Theatre, Colonial History Tour in Williamsburg Virginia. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Williamsburg?
+
April to June and September to October. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Williamsburg?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
