White Crater
Kawah Putih is located near the charming little market town of Ciwidey, approximately 50 Kilometers south of Bandung. The Crater Lake is one of two craters of Mount Patuha, with the dry Kawah Patuha or the Patuha Crater located 600 meters to its northwest, being the other. Stepping into Kawah Putih is like entering a different realm. As the name suggests, the Crater Lake and its surroundings are dominated by a pale white color which radiates a rather hypnotizing ambience. The vast dormant volcanic crater is filled with surreal turquoise-colored water. The tree-clad cliffs surrounding the crater reach around 2,500 meters above sea level and make for a stunning backdrop, especially when the clouds start to roll in. The altitude here brings with it chilly temperatures, which in a way, will add to the magical splendor of Kawah Putih.

Started very late
Started off with our guide being on time but our car being an hour and forty minutes late with no reason given and poor communication. Our guide Alex was pleasant and knowledgeable but he and his “friend” who joined us took video the whole time without any explanation and I had to ask them to stop when we were in swimsuits. Overall visited some amazing locations but there were some major disappointments.

Truly an amazing day!
Our guide, Alex, was wonderful! We visited the White Crater, the strawberry farm, enjoyed lunch, then off to the hot springs via an amazing suspension bridge. Sadly, it started raining at the hot springs, but we spent an hour in the waters anyway.

Mother Nature rained on us so we didn't see much but the tour guide was nice.
Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate so we were unable to see much on this tour besides torrential rain. But this is Mother Nature's fault, not the tour operator's! Our tour guide was Alex and he was very good natured and friendly and we all made the best of a difficult situation. For those considering this tour--it is a very long drive to get to the white crater, so make sure you are fine with being in a van for many hours.

Great experience
The trip was actually womderful, our english speaking driver Alex was great, helpfull, knew his stuff, helping us with everithing, took beautifull pictures of all of us and was amazing in all the way. He was prepared for all kind of weather. We were really happy to make this tour, the sights were woderful. We are really happy that we could experienced it. Thank you

Despite the long road the experience is worth getting away from the city and into the jungle and all that can offer... driver Alex was also a wonderful guide and is an excellent person, we totally recommend this excursion, if you want quality and get away from the city to discover endless experiences and wonderful landscapes.
