Inlingua Como - Disappointing refund policy when group course cancelled

I booked an intensive B1 group Italian course at inlingua Como for October 5–9, 2026 and paid €395 in advance. Shortly before the course was to start, the school administrator informed me that the group course was no longer available (despite her confirming three times in writing the availability of group lessons at my level). I was offered private lessons instead of the group course I had booked. However, half the fun of learning Italian is doing so in a group. I did not want private lessons and had previously advised the school of this. As a result I cancelled before the course began and requested a refund. The school refused to refund the €395. I was disappointed that I could not receive a refund for a course I had not attended or received. I do not recommend Inlingua Coma and I should have paid attention to other reviewers who had received the same treatment. A much better choice is Team Lingue International House in Como. It is a newer school with actual classrooms and excellent professional teachers. At Team Lingue International House in Como I was able to attend a B1/B2 intensive course with 3 hours of classes per day and the cost was 345 Euro.
