Unforgettable experience with Divers White Sand in Amed!

We had an unforgettable experience with Divers White Sand in Amed! We did two amazing dives and felt supported, safe, and truly looked after every step of the way. A huge thank you to our guide Roda, who was absolutely fantastic – incredibly kind, professional, and full of contagious enthusiasm. He also took lots of amazing videos of our dives that we’ll treasure as special memories. We’d also like to warmly thank Kadek, who kindly helped us download all the photos from the GoPro we rented – super helpful and patient! A big shoutout to the entire team at Divers White Sand for their passion, friendliness, and great energy. We would dive with you again a thousand times over! Highly recommended for anyone who wants to explore the underwater wonders of Amed with truly skilled and welcoming people

Response from the operator: Hi Luzanchi, Roda is 1 of the 2 new comers in our team (Our diving activites increased by +100% from 2023 to 2025) and yes in our Fundive packages, lots of fun is always included : At WSD, world class diving with full choice of dive sites and with local balinese vibe ! Thanks for fundiving with us and for this kind comment. Our dive guides are all fluent in english, welcoming and they have 1000s of dives in Amed/Tulamben area. They all have a "safety first" mindset and the management regularly checks their skills and motivation like in any DIR (Doing It Right) center. Diving in small groups of usually 2 max 3 fundivers and having the full choice of your dive sites make the experience greater ! Especially in our Amed/Tulamben area with such a variety of diving : reef, macro, wreck, wall, drift, cavern and Tec ! No deposit is requested for booking your fundives (on WA) and there is no fee in case of cancelation. For afternoon and night dive, no need to prebook the day before, just tell your dive guide after both morning fundives! Payment is done at the end : that way you only pay for the service that we provided. Our PADI 5 ⭐Resort is now composed of 8 hotels : Ayunan Beach Villas Amed has just opened in January 2025 : VIP villas for 2 or 4 guests with private pool, right on a remote (almost) private beach, perfect for snorkelling with sea turtles in the afternoon ! Stay there next time and get 10% discount on all your morning fundives ! Kind regards and see you soon for more underwater adventures ! Amazing !

Amazing first time experience with Longsor, very competent and friendly instructor. Had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend it. 10/10!

Response from the operator: Hi and diver thanks for this outstanding review. Made Bukti, alias Longsor (means "landslides" in Bahasa) is the senior Instructor here at WSD and he has been teaching hundreds of students in Amed/Tulamben area for over 6 years with us ; he will be glad to read this great comment. All our dive instructors have been carefully selected : experienced, patient with flexible schedule if needed with students needing more time for some skills and speaking a fluent english. Perfect mastery of all skills is always achieved. Our management team regularly evaluates their motivations and skills, just like in any DIR (Doing It Right) dive center. This is the key for quality and safety! Our PADI 5 ⭐Resort is now composed of 8 hotels : Ayunan Beach Villas Amed has just opened in January 2025 : VIP villas for 2 or 4 guests with private pool, right on a remote private beach ! Great experience

My partner and I dove with Coco today. I have previous dive experience (very little!) and my last dive was 15 years ago! This was my partners’ first dive, although he is a snorkeler. Coco was very patient and kind and took great care to explain everything to us. In the water, his eye was always on us and the fish, pointing out all the beautiful things the sea had to offer. Unfortunately, after my first dive I got super nauseated….Coco gave some tea and place to sit, while he and my partner returned to the sea. Would highly recommend this crew, they are experienced and attentive to safety and kind. PS: loved the funny looking razor fish!

Response from the operator: Hi Corina and thanks for this smashing review. Yes our diving staff is simply excellent but also the conditions : only small group with well-maintained diving gear. And things stay like that because our management team regularly checks the staff motivation and skills, just like in any DIR (Doing It Right) dive center. See you soon again for more underwater adventures with Coco ! Kind regards

    Best experience I’ve ever had

I would like to say thank you to the best instructor I’ve had. Pierre is fantastic, his knowledge is amazing. This was my very first dive, we did introdive at WSD, which turned to fundive, because he said I was talented and good enough 🤗 we visited Jemeluk wall and Lipah bay. In many dive centers, introdives are just 20 minutes on a sandy bottom in front of the shop, but he saw potential in me and provided safe atmosphere to try my best. We saw so many species of fish, even turtle 😍 I regret not completing my open water certificate with them, but I was running out of money and time. See you next time, I definitely go back!🤗

Response from the operator: Hi diver and thank you so much for this great review and yes we take introdivers seriously and always start with a 45' comprehensive briefing about equipment and skills ; our aim is to make it possible to let you handle yourself your buoyancy as soon as possible to fully enjoy your dives down to a depth of 12m if safe. See you soon for OW course and more underwater experience. Kind regards !

Introduction into diving (half day, 2 dives, no cert): questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Ubud.

How much does Introduction into diving (half day, 2 dives, no cert) cost?

    +

Prices start at $1800000 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Ubud usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Introduction into diving (half day, 2 dives, no cert) take?

    +

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Ubud is not rushed.

Is Introduction into diving (half day, 2 dives, no cert) worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 80 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Ubud, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Introduction into diving (half day, 2 dives, no cert)?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Introduction into diving (half day, 2 dives, no cert) suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Introduction into diving (half day, 2 dives, no cert)?

    +

Around 28 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ubud can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ubud and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Introduction into diving (half day, 2 dives, no cert) start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Ubud within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Ubud?

    +

On Outty we rank every Ubud experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mount Batur Jeep Adventure, Best of Ubud Full-Day Tour with Jungle Swing, Full-Day Tour to Water Temples and UNESCO Rice Terraces in Bali. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Ubud?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Ubud?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
