What you get
About this experience
This section of the Colorado River offers scenic views including meadows, valleys, rolling ranch lands, and steep canyon walls, and wildlife including bald eagles, deer, beavers, and big horn sheep - always something to see. You can paddle to a sandy shore to greet families of geese, to the edges of huge cliffs, or around smaller obstacles, wherever your curiosity takes you. Go double with a friend, or enjoy solitude in a single-person ducky. Upper Colorado River Rafting provides mild Class I-II rapids and occasional Class III rapids at higher water flow. If exciting water is what your group is looking for, then early summer is the best time to come. Some years the river is a gorgeous winding float. When rivers run at their peak, it can make for a big ride. Pick a challenging line or choose to skirt it in your own ducky!

Enjoyable First Time Kayaking
First time kayaking. Tanner was a great guide, funny and knowledgeable and I knew I was in good hands. Beautiful section of the river in the canyon. Really enjoyed it.
Response from the operator: Thanks so much for calling out your guide and for mentioning how lovely the Upper Colorado River valley is in autumn. We love this time of year! Less crowded but still warm in the abundant sunshine! We hope you're a convert to kayaking, and we'll see you again soon!

Soo much fun!! Wanna go back
Guide was very cool but also professional at the same time. Had a blast on the rapid sections. We chose the kayaks. Definitely plan on getting wet if you are on kayaks.
Response from the operator: Terrific! Glad you enjoyed the Colorado River and the kayaking adventure. See you soon!

Great Upper Colorado trip
We had a wonderful guided trip from Pump-house to Radium on the upper Colorado river. Connor was the Trip Leader and Jake was our kayak guide. Both were great. There was an extended family on our trip that rode in the raft with Connor. All of the guides were good with their small children. We met Jake on Saturday when we stopped by to look around and he was very helpful telling us about trip options and what to expect. We were pleased to find out he was our guide today 8/22. The trip was relatively tame since the flow was only 932 cps but it was still a lot of fun and the scenery was great. This outfitter was very strong on safety and having fun. I’d highly recommend them for your next whitewater trip.
Response from the operator: Wow, thanks for the big thumb's up! This is the best trip for families with members of all ages. Soon fall scenery will make it extra special!

Tanner was AWESOME!
Tanner was such a great guide! He always prepared us for what was coming up ahead on the river, and let us know which side of the river we should stay on to avoid rocks! He showed us all the cool little spots, and let us stop to jump off rocks! :)
Response from the operator: Tanner and all of our guides love to show off the beautiful Upper Colorado River canyons. Glad you had a great time!

Why this scores 63
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Inflatable Kayak Adventure Colorado River: Half Day Guided Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Vail.
How much does Inflatable Kayak Adventure Colorado River: Half Day Guided Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $105 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Vail usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Inflatable Kayak Adventure Colorado River: Half Day Guided Tour take?
+
Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Vail is not rushed.
Is Inflatable Kayak Adventure Colorado River: Half Day Guided Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Vail, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Inflatable Kayak Adventure Colorado River: Half Day Guided Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Inflatable Kayak Adventure Colorado River: Half Day Guided Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Inflatable Kayak Adventure Colorado River: Half Day Guided Tour?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Vail can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Vail and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Inflatable Kayak Adventure Colorado River: Half Day Guided Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Vail within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Vail?
+
Vail sells ski and snowboard lessons and rentals across its back bowls in winter, then hiking, gondola rides, jeep tours and rafting on the Eagle River in summer. On Outty we rank every Vail experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Half-Day Whitewater Rafting Upper Colorado River, Colorado River Whitewater Rafting: Half Day Trip, Top of the Rockies Jeep Tour - Vail, CO. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Vail?
+
December to March for snow, June to September for alpine hiking. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Vail?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
