    Amazing experience with Roshan!

Roshan is an overall amazing guide, and great person. He organized and coordinated a helicopter evac for someone in our party after an injury. He acted as a medical liaison, and made sure he had everything needed until they left the country. Following this, he put together a completely new four day trek for me that started immediately after the evacuation was complete. Roshan is friendly and honest, knows A TON about the local culture, biology, geology and history, and is well known around the tea houses so knows what is good and bad for his clients. His communication is excellent, so you always know what is going on and what to expect. I would highly recommend Roshan for any guiding around Nepal, and look forward to my next trip with him.

Response from the operator: Dear sir, Humble greetings for the day🙏😊 Thank you so much for your wonderful review and kind words. It was truly a pleasure to share this trekking experience with you. Your trust, positive attitude, and enthusiasm made the journey even more enjoyable and memorable. I am grateful that you took the time to share your experience. Knowing that you enjoyed the trek, the mountains, and the service means a lot to me. Creating safe, enjoyable, and unforgettable adventures for trekkers is always my goal. Thank you again for choosing me as your trekking guide. I hope the memories of the mountains stay with you for a lifetime, and I look forward to welcoming you back to Nepal for another adventure in the future. Wishing you safe travels and all the very best! Warm regards, Your Trekking Guide Roshan Thapa Whatsapp: + 977-9824162792

Incredible guide and human, Roshan cared for me like family

It is impossible for me to fully express my gratitude and appreciation to Roshan for his guiding services, and for the care and humanity he showed when I slipped and severely injured my knee on the Nar Phu trek, but I will try. First, Roshan is the best outdoor guide I have ever worked with. He is deeply knowledgeable of the trekking areas, is an excellent communicator fluent in English, expertly understood the desires and preferences that my trekking partner and I had for our trip, and created an itinerary that was just right for our skill level and style of travel. Roshan is 100% trustworthy and offered, in my opinion, a quality of service that no other company could match, all at a very fair price. He speaks fluent, conversational English, and our trip was greatly enhanced by his openness and willingness to discuss anything we wanted to ask about Nepal: culture, politics, customs, personal life, land use and ownership, taxes, infrastructure projects, immigration, everything. We learned so much from him and when I think about all the memorable parts of this trip, many of the best moments were conversations with Roshan. The Nar Phu trek was absolutely gorgeous and we were having a perfect trip…until Day 6. When walking out of Nar Village, I slipped on a step and ruptured my patellar tendon, a severe knee injury which required a medical evacuation by helicopter and surgery. Roshan took care of me as if I was family. He arranged the helicopter, fed me meals in bed for 3 days while we waited at Nar Guest House for the weather to clear so the helicopter could fly, rode with me to the Hospital, translated and arranged logistics from the helicopter payment, ambulance, hospital admission and discharge, hospital payment, he picked up my prescription medications before we left, he guarded my wallet, cash, phone, passport, EVERYTHING that was most valuable to me while I went in for my MRI and I had absolutely no fear trusting him with my health and all those precious items. There are no words to express my gratitude to Roshan, not only for what he did, but how he did it. He was calm, helpful, professional, caring, and never impatient or annoyed. Roshan refused to leave me until I was at the airport security heading home on my medical repatriation flight and the security would not allow him to go any further. Then he twice tried to send his trekking pole to me to continue to support me in the airport in his absence, a very touching and selfless gesture that shows you the kind of man that he is. Like I said, this review cannot really express my gratitude. Roshan is a professional, capable, moral, ethical, wonderful human being and trekking guide. You could not choose a better person in Nepal to trust your vacation and your wellbeing to. Thank you for everything Roshan. I will return to finish the trek when my knee heals! -David

Response from the operator: Dear David, Humble Greetings for the day🙏😊 It was an absolute privilege to share this journey with you and to be part of your trekking experience. As a guide, my greatest reward is seeing my guests enjoy the mountains safely, create unforgettable memories, and return home with a smile. Knowing that I was able to contribute to such a positive experience for you fills me with immense gratitude and pride. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your incredibly kind and thoughtful review. Reading your words truly means more to me than I can express. I really feel so sad and sorry that you had to terminate your trek at the middle due to your knee injury. I pray that it gets well very soon. Your trust, encouragement, and appreciation motivate me to continue giving my very best to every trekker who chooses to explore these beautiful mountains with me. Reviews like yours are not just comments—they are cherished memories and a reminder of why I love what I do. Thank you once again for your generosity, kindness, and support. I truely appreciate your kind effort for this shining review and enchanting 5 stars. I will always treasure your words and the wonderful time we spent together on the trail. I hope the mountains call you back again soon, and when they do, it would be my honor and pleasure to guide you on another adventure. Wishing you happiness, good health, and many more amazing journeys ahead. With my deepest gratitude and warmest regards, Your Trekking Guide Roshan Thapa Whatsapp: +977-9824162792

Roshan is probably the best guide out there

Roshan guided myself and 2 mates on the manaslu circuit trek. He was excellent. Super easy to communicate with and organise the trip; he took care of all the permits, transport, accom, food, some hiking equipment & more. He seems to be one of the best guides out there and we could quickly see that Roshan was one of the most knowledgeable & professional, yet casual and fun to be around. Thanks Roshan for the trip of a lifetime.

Response from the operator: Dear Ben, Namaste and Humble Greetings for the Day😊🙏 I hope you are doing great and back to your normal life with your friends and family back home. I really appreciate your support to me and the beautiful words you have written down for me. I am very thankful for the wonderful review and the enchanting 5 stars you have provided me. My time too, with you and the whole group was so beautiful, fun and memorable that I will be never forgetting those memories throughout my life. I will definitely see you some day again in my life either in Nepal or in Australia. Thanks Ben again for your support and great review. Manaslu Circuit Trek

I completed the Manaslu circuit trek with Roshan and two other friends. He was very proactive in organising required our trekking permits and providing assistance with e-visa applications. The only thing we had to sort was our first night of accommodation. Everything was well handled by Roshan. Very knowledgeable guide on the trek. Knew the best spots to visit given the respective weather conditions. English was great. A porter was provided who was good too. Didn’t feel unsafe or if we were being ripped off. He was very honest and fair with us. Would recommend Roshan as a guide.

Response from the operator: Dear Banger, Humble Greetings for the day🙏😊 I feel really happy to learn that you could find me as a very helpful and friendly guide. I feel glad to know that you really enjoyed your Manaslu trek with me. Thank you so much for your great review and enchanting 5 stars.🙏🙏😊 Your words have added me lots of energy, inspirations and excitements for my trekking career ahead. I hope to see you again in Nepal for your next amazing trek. Thank you again, best wishes and much love Roshan😊 Whatsapp: +977-9824162792

    Mardi Himal trek!

We had four days with Roshan doing the Mardi Himal trek. He was a great guide and was very knowledgeable about the area and Nepalese culture. Also is very experienced on this trek so had lots of connections and knew which tea houses were the best. He listened to what we wanted to do and was happy to adapt the schedule to make sure we got the most out of the trip! This meant we were able to get to Mardi Himal Base Camp and spend some time walking through the villages from Siding to Lumre.

Response from the operator: Dear Ingrid and Zac, Humble greetings for the day🙏 I would like to express my sincere thanks to both of you for finding me as your trekking guide in Nepal for Mardi Himal trek.😊 Huge thanks for your great review and shining 5 stars for my services. I wish to see you again in Nepal for your next big trek and hope to be your guide again. All the best and kind regards, Roshan Thapa Whatsapp: +977-9824162792

Independent Trekking Guide in Pokhara: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Pokhara.

How much does Independent Trekking Guide in Pokhara cost?

    +

Prices start at $50 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Pokhara usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Independent Trekking Guide in Pokhara take?

    +

Plan for about 120 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Pokhara is not rushed.

Is Independent Trekking Guide in Pokhara worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 82 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 54 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Pokhara, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Independent Trekking Guide in Pokhara?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Independent Trekking Guide in Pokhara suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 120-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Independent Trekking Guide in Pokhara?

    +

Around 19 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Pokhara can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Pokhara and add a light layer if any part of the 120-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Independent Trekking Guide in Pokhara start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Pokhara within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Pokhara?

    +

On Outty we rank every Pokhara experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ghorepani - Poon Hill Trek 3N-4D, Annapurna Base Camp Trek -8 days, Annapurna Base Camp Treks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Pokhara?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Pokhara?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
