    What you'll see and do

    1. Start the day at the Isthmus of Corinth, the narrow land bridge that links mainland Greece to the Peloponnese. In antiquity, it marked the natural boundary between the two regions and held great strategic and symbolic significance. Since 1893, the impressive Corinth Canal has cut through the 6.3-kilometer-wide isthmus, transforming the Peloponnese into an island and offering a striking sight of steep limestone walls and clear blue waters. It's a perfect introduction to the engineering feats and layered history of the region.

    2. The Diolkos

Just a short distance from the canal lies the ancient Diolkos, a remarkable feat of engineering that predates the canal by over two millennia. This stone-paved trackway allowed ancient ships to be hauled overland across the Isthmus of Corinth, saving them from the perilous journey around the Peloponnese. Walking along its remains offers a glimpse into the practical ingenuity of the ancient Greeks and how vital this shortcut was for trade and naval movement.

      10 minutes here

    3. Ancient Port of Kenchreai

Arrive at Kechrees, the eastern port of Corinth, where the Apostle Paul disembarked during his first visit to the city around 51 A.D. It was also from here that he later set sail for Ephesus, entrusting his letter to the Romans to a prominent Christian woman named Phoebe, a deaconess of the local church. Though only modest traces of the ancient port remain, the site carries deep spiritual and historical significance as a place tied to Paul’s ministry and the early Christian community.

      20 minutes here

    4. Ancient Corinth (Archaia Korinthos)

Step into the heart of Ancient Corinth, one of the most powerful and prosperous cities of the classical world. For Christian visitors, this site holds special meaning: at the Bema, a raised platform in the center of the city, Paul is believed to have addressed the local community and stood trial before the Roman proconsul. Nearby, the Agora—the bustling marketplace—evokes the everyday life of the Corinthians Paul wrote to. Amid the ruins, the impressive Temple of Apollo stands as a reminder of the city’s long and complex religious history.

    5. Archaeological Museum of Corinth

Conclude your visit to the site with the Museum of Ancient Corinth, built in 1932 to preserve the wealth of artifacts uncovered during excavations. The museum offers a deeper understanding of Corinth’s long history, with highlights including prehistoric finds and items from the Sanctuary of Asklepios. Carefully curated galleries bring to life the daily, religious, and artistic aspects of the city across the centuries, complementing what you've seen at the archaeological site.

    6. Explore Acrocorinth, the fortified acropolis that protected ancient and medieval Corinth. Beyond its impressive walls, towers, and bastions—built and reinforced through Greek, Byzantine, Frankish, Venetian, and Ottoman periods—Acrocorinth was also home to the famous Temple of Aphrodite. This sanctuary was renowned for its community of up to 1,000 priestesses, highlighting the site’s religious as well as strategic significance. As you walk through the ruins and take in sweeping views, you’ll witness the layers of history that shaped this commanding fortress.

      40 minutes here

    7. Apostolos Pavlos Church

End your tour at the modern Church of Saint Paul, located in the heart of ancient Corinth. Inside, a striking mosaic by artists Pastorutti and Tsotsonis vividly depicts the apostle’s journey and mission in the city. This contemporary tribute creates a meaningful connection between Corinth’s rich early Christian history and the present day, offering a reflective space to honor Paul’s lasting legacy.

    Great tour well worth it!

What a fantastic tour! It began with an easy pick up right in front of our hotel ! We met Ruslan our fantastic tour guide! He was fluent in English & knew all the history and background of Paul. he was a wonderful conversationalist because sometimes we would ask questions off track and he answered everything. He was very interesting and enjoyable! Seeing the canal was a highlight I had no idea the importance of it and what it looked like. The sites were great as well, especially going to the top of the Corinth fortress! Ruslan also recommended where to go to dinner and he was patient when I wanted to stop at the souvenir shops! He totally made this trip and tour worthwhile!

Actually visiting and following the same places and routes that St. Paul took was very special. Having an excellent guide in Ruslan made it even better. I highly recommend this tour for anyone following and learning about the Bible.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.

How much does In the Footsteps of Apostle Paul: Ancient Corinth Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $185 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does In the Footsteps of Apostle Paul: Ancient Corinth Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.

Is In the Footsteps of Apostle Paul: Ancient Corinth Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 83 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 390 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule In the Footsteps of Apostle Paul: Ancient Corinth Tour?

How far in advance should I book In the Footsteps of Apostle Paul: Ancient Corinth Tour?

    +

Around 137 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Athens?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Athens?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
