1. Make your way to the Café des Deux Moulins, the actual café where the heroine of Audrey Tautou worked as a waitress. It is situated on one of the most illustrious and busiest streets in the Montmartre district. An area of art and the cozy atmosphere of a small village. The café is named after two windmills that are still preserved near Montmartre.

2. Head on over to Marché De La Butte, called Monsieur Collignon’s in the movie. This small food store was located nearby Amélie’s apartment. This was a go-to place for the heroine to shop and to stop by to listen to gossip and rumors.

3. Studio 28

   The oldest movie theater in Paris, named after the date it was founded (1928), was frequently on Amélie’s Friday night list. She would go there to see some good foreign movies. Sometimes they show Amélie movie, which is unusual as there is a scene of the main character watching a movie at Studio 28.

4. Get closer to the beautifully renovated 1920s Piscine des Amiraux, an art deco masterpiece and a municipal swimming pool. The fans can recognize the place from the beginning of the movie and a scene with Amelie’s father coming out of the pool.

5. One of the most iconic landmarks of Paris, Notre Dame de Paris, damaged in a fire in April 2019, is now closed to the public and is being restored, but you can still admire the grandeur of the early gothic architecture and be reminded of the movie scenes when small Amelie went to church with her mother to light candles for her little brother.

6. Canal Saint-Martin

   Stroll along the 4.5-kilometer-long Canal Saint-Martin, where Amelie used to skip stones into the canal water. Observe the people gathering along the canal, relaxing, eating, hanging out, chatting, and spending their time. This is a great place for walking and reflecting in a peaceful atmosphere.

7. Stop by Le Verre a Pied, a nice and quaint wine bar where Amelie eavesdropped on Dominique Bretodeau telling his story about a metal box hidden in Amelie’s apartment. Get an opportunity to enjoy a glass of good wine and maybe find something for lunch in the cozy ambience of a small Parisian restaurant. The wine bar is located on rue Mouffetard, one of the oldest streets in Paris, which roots back to the times of the Romans. Enjoy a stroll through the narrow cobblestone streets to soak in the atmosphere of old Europe.

8. Follow in the footsteps of Amelie as she left the Verre a Pied and walked to the Pont des Arts, a romantic place surrounded by gorgeous buildings. The bridge is famous for its love locks, where lovers would attach their locks while throwing the keys in the Seine river. Although in 2015, the local authorities removed the padlocks because of the extraordinary weight load on a bridge, causing damage.

9. Take a stroll along Lamarck streets to get to the Lamarck-Caulaincourt Metro station. Recognize the scene where Amelie scooped a blind man who was trying to cross the street but to no avail. She helped him cross and continued walking, giving a vivid guided tour of the sites while walking down the street towards the metro station.

10. Stop to see another movie place, Toys Palace, a shop located just several minutes from the Mouline Rouge. In the movie, the shop was called Palace Video, where Nino sometimes worked. Let your guide remind you about the scene where Amelie enters the shop looking for Nino.

11. Continue the journey and get to the largest and oldest funfair in France, dating back over 1,000 years. Remember the scenes from the movie as you walk by and have a chance to take up some activities the funfair can offer. It can offer over 300 attractions, including roller coasters, fun shooting games, and all the rest.

12. The tour takes you to one of the symbols of Paris and Montmartre since 1914, Sacre Coeur Basilica, located at the very top of Montmartre Hill. Enjoy stunning panoramic views of Paris from above, see the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame de Paris, and other dominating landmarks of the city. Recall the scenes with the public phone booth next to the famous carrousel in Saint-Pierre Square.

13. Reach your final landmark of the tour and enjoy an old cobblestoned Saint-Vincent street. Recognize the street as it is shot in the beginning and at the end of the movie, showing the very start of Amelie’s story in 1973 and a happy ending with Nino and Amelie riding down the road into the sunset together.
