About this experience

Hydra is the island that invites you to stop time and relax. Beautiful cobbled streets next to the endless blue, paths for demanding walks and traditional settlements of natural beauty. Donkeys & horses are, along with sea taxis, the only means of transport on the island, since wheeled vehicles are prohibited on the island. We will drive for about 3 hour until the port of Hydra bay. On our way by the sea and we will see important places as Corinth Canal, also the enchanting area of ancient Epidaurus. The boat trip only takes 20 minutes, but it is a wonderful opportunity to smell the morning sea air and feel like you are on vacation. On the island of Hydra you will have at our disposal a little more than four hours to walk the narrow streets of the city and admire the traditional buildings, enter museum, walk on paths outside the city, to hidden beach. You will take the return boat at 17:00 full of images and emotions and we hope with feelings of friendship that we will have created.

Great day in Hydra via the Corinth canal

The road trip to Hydra via the Corinth canal was interesting and good to see another part of Greece. Hydra itself was lovely and we spent a happy day swimming a little, walking through the paths and alleyways and watching the world go by in the port. Anastasios was a great guide, providing us with lots of information but not bombarding us. There were nice touches such as drinks and a welcome koulouri. Particular praise must go to Anastasios for getting us home despite all major routes into Athens being closed due to an accident. He dealt with it calmly and made sure that our day ended well. It’s easy to be a tour guide when things are going well, but it’s good to know where the really good ones are in case things do go wrong!

A place where time stands still.

Easy experiences is a great tour group. They were informative, very helpful, and accommodating. I will definitely use them on my next visit to Greece! Hydra is an amazing island. No cars, beautiful vistas, lovely restaurants and shops. And don’t forget the donkeys! You can hike the windy roads, and discover vantage points to see the deep blue sea. The architecture of the village and their personalized doors, add to the ambiance. It is a place where time seems to stand still. A must-do on a visit to Greece!

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Athens?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Athens?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
