Making chicken paprikash with family and new friends!

It was very easy to book and participate in a cooking class with Marti. The 2.5 hours was spent actively prepping and cooking with her support, humor, encouragement, tips and none of the non-fun stuff (cleaning! that's for her husband to do!). The kitchen space was convenient and spacious but approachable for a home cook. Our fellow international tourists were a delight to work with. It ended with a delicious lunch of chicken paprikash, wine and conversation. I look forward to trying the recipe at home!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! It was a real pleasure having you in my Hungarian Cooking Class in Budapest. I’m so happy you enjoyed the hands-on experience, the relaxed atmosphere, and, of course, the chicken paprikas! I love sharing traditional Hungarian home cooking in a fun and welcoming way, and it makes me especially happy to hear that you’re looking forward to recreating the recipe at home. I hope every bite brings back great memories of your time in Budapest. Thank you again for joining me and for your kind words!

Great cooking class with wonderful hosts.

Did the morning cookery class creating Chicken Paprikash. Marti was very welcoming and explained everything. Everyone had chance to get involved and the meal at the end was delicious. A great experience in a central location with wonderful hosts.

I'm so happy to hear that you enjoyed preparing one of Hungary's most iconic dishes and that everyone had the opportunity to take part in the cooking. Great cooking experience

Nice, immersive cooking experience. We learned to make chicken paprikas and spaetzle, both of which came out excellent. Marti was very clear in her instructions and cooking tips and also Hungarian culture in general.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind review! I’m delighted that you enjoyed the cooking experience and that the Chicken Paprikash and homemade Nokedli (Hungarian dumplings) turned out so well. One of my goals is to make traditional Hungarian recipes approachable and fun while also sharing a little about Hungarian culture, food traditions, and everyday life in Budapest. It was a pleasure cooking with you, and thank you for choosing my Hungarian Cooking Class in Budapest. I hope you will recreate these dishes at home and enjoy a taste of Hungary again.

Hungarian Cooking Class with Chef Marti: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Budapest.

How much does Hungarian Cooking Class with Chef Marti cost?

    +

Prices start at $89 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Budapest usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Hungarian Cooking Class with Chef Marti take?

    +

Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Budapest is not rushed.

Is Hungarian Cooking Class with Chef Marti worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 37 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Budapest, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Hungarian Cooking Class with Chef Marti?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Hungarian Cooking Class with Chef Marti suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Hungarian Cooking Class with Chef Marti?

    +

Around 13 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Budapest can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Budapest and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Hungarian Cooking Class with Chef Marti start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Budapest within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Budapest?

    +

On Outty we rank every Budapest experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Budapest City Landmarks Walking Tour in 2 Hours, Countryside Half-day Gastro-Wine Tour from Budapest Meal & pickup, Budapest free walking tour: Parliament and Shoes Memorial. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Budapest?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Budapest?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
