    Avoid awful felt unsafe

awful experience, no matching to description at all, not taken to a ranch, not introduced to the horses, no instructions. Poorly conditioned horses. Taken to beach via dirt roads and roads with sand buggies flying by all the time !! Scared us let alone the poor horses. Arrived at the beach was told to dismount almost immediately had one photo on the sand with the horses. No riding along the beach as advertised. Photographer present was constantly taking pics not asked by us !!

    Avoid at all cost!!

Worst horse riding experience I have done in the Dominican. Was my wife's 1st experience & was completely ruined. Everything from a 3 hour excursion which turned into a 1 hour horse ride dodging quad bikes & sand dune buggies. No beach water riding, no mountain trekking etc. Everything promised on the itinerary was non existent. Nothing but a hard sell to buy goods from the starting point. 2 x drinks cost $40. Drinks card given out with no price on. After drink payment was extortionate. Photographer on trip was taking numerous photos & expected $150 for the package. Stay well clear of this company absolute rip off in every aspect. Horses look tired & in need of a vet.

    Avoid at all costs.

Avoid avoid avoid You are taken to a ATV area and made to sit through a 40 minute sales pitch, at which you will be offered a drinks menu with no prices, once ordered you will be informed they are 20 dollars each!! You will be given a hard sell during the 40 minutes and will not be able to leave this!! Once you have sat through this they will then make you sit in the scorching heat for a further 20 minutes waiting for them to bring out incredibly poorly looked after horses!! No visiting the ranch or being given any instruction!! The treat will then follow the same path as the very loud ATVs that will whizz past you at speed with no regard for you or the horse’s safety. You will then be taken down a main road again with no instruction or regard for anyone’s safety, The beach is nice but you will only ride the horses a very short way down the beach and then you will get off where a photographer will try to put you in a dress and take photos for 30 minutes all whilst the horses are kept in the midday sun! We said we did not want to do the dresses so the photographer took photos of his girlfriend in them instead! The return horse ride was a maximum 20 minutes again along a busy road whist ATVs whizz past at speed throwing dust at you and these poor horses. Once back at the ATV centre you will be pressured into buying photos you do not want or asked him to take! This trip is terrible and an excuse to get you there to sell you things that they make you feel you have to buy or they will not let you go. Please do not use this tour so they will have to stop offering this horse service and hopefully these horses will be saved from being treated in this way.

    A magical adventure

From the hotel transfer to the return, everything was very well organized. Upon arrival explain how to use the safety equipment and we were assigned horses suitable for our level. The journey was varied: we passed through paths with vegetation, crossed small currents and finally reached the beach, where we enjoyed galloping by the sea.The guide was friendly, patient and knew well of flora and fauna, which gave an extra value to the walk. I really felt that I connected with the Dominican environment. I recommend it for those who want more than just “resort tourism”.

Response from the operator: Gracias por participar🤗🤗🤗👏🏼👏🏼

Recommended for your visit to Punta Cana

If you’re thinking about a different activity and close to nature, this is a great option. The horses were in good condition, the guides very professional and the tour has variety: beach, trails, beautiful views. It was one of the best memories of my trip; I would do it again without hesitation.

Response from the operator: Gracias ☺️🙏🏼🙏🏼

Horse Back Riding Adventure in Punta Cana: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Punta Cana.

How much does Horse Back Riding Adventure in Punta Cana cost?

    +

Prices start at $29 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Punta Cana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Horse Back Riding Adventure in Punta Cana take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Punta Cana is not rushed.

Is Horse Back Riding Adventure in Punta Cana worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 18 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Punta Cana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Horse Back Riding Adventure in Punta Cana?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Horse Back Riding Adventure in Punta Cana suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Horse Back Riding Adventure in Punta Cana?

    +

Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Punta Cana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Punta Cana and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Horse Back Riding Adventure in Punta Cana start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Punta Cana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Punta Cana?

    +

On Outty we rank every Punta Cana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Punta Cana Zipline - 8 lines and a suspenseful hanging bridge, Punta Cana Buggy or ATV Tour with Macao Beach, Cave and Tastings, Buggy Excursion to Macau Beach and Natural Cave. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Punta Cana?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Punta Cana?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
