Fantastic Experience with Animaris in Faro
We had a wonderful experience with Animaris in Faro! I visited together with my friend, and the trip to Culatra and Ilha Deserta was absolutely beautiful. A special thank you to Captain João — very charismatic, professional, and with a fantastic sense of humor. He made the whole experience enjoyable and relaxing, and we truly appreciated his friendly attitude and knowledge. We also want to thank Michel, who welcomed us and helped with the tickets. The whole team was kind, organized, and very professional. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the experience and would highly recommend Animaris to anyone visiting Faro. We will definitely book again in the future! — Vera

absolutely recommend for exploring the islands if you're looking for flexibility
we utilised the hop on hop off as we wanted to have flexibility in our day, and we're able to book the day of for the time we wanted. the lady at the marina desk was lovely and explained how it worked for us. I have cerebral palsy and therefore have mobility issues, but each time I was helped on and off the boat and felt genuinely helped; not rushed, as though I was an inconvenience, or made to feel less, and I didn't even have to explain my disability, that was the genuine approach. I was also apprehensive about being on a speedboat, but the journey was smooth, comfortable, and we had our life jackets checked to make sure they were on properly and fitted. all in all, I would absolutely recommend. each person was wonderful, the transport arrived exactly when it was supposed to, and it was an amazing way to ensure we had the day we wanted to have. definitely the best way to explore the islands.
Response from the operator: Dear Kayleigh, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us! We're absolutely delighted to hear that our Hop On Hop Off service gave you the flexibility you were looking for and helped make your day exactly what you wanted it to be. It truly means a lot to us to know that you felt genuinely supported and never rushed or made to feel like an inconvenience because that’s exactly the kind of respectful and inclusive experience we strive to offer every single guest. We're also very happy to hear that the boat ride felt smooth and safe, and that our team ensured your life jacket was properly fitted and secure. Your kind words about our staff and service really made our day. We’ll be sure to share your feedback with the team, it’s always wonderful to hear how our crew made a positive impact. Thank you again for your recommendation. We hope to welcome you back again soon :) Kind regards, Miguel

Why this scores 72
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Hop On Hop Off 3 Islands: Deserta, Farol and Culatra: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Faro.
How much does Hop On Hop Off 3 Islands: Deserta, Farol and Culatra cost?
+
Prices start at $47 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Faro usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Hop On Hop Off 3 Islands: Deserta, Farol and Culatra take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Faro is not rushed.
Is Hop On Hop Off 3 Islands: Deserta, Farol and Culatra worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 63 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Faro, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Hop On Hop Off 3 Islands: Deserta, Farol and Culatra?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Hop On Hop Off 3 Islands: Deserta, Farol and Culatra suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Hop On Hop Off 3 Islands: Deserta, Farol and Culatra?
+
Around 22 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Faro can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Faro and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Hop On Hop Off 3 Islands: Deserta, Farol and Culatra start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Faro within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Faro?
+
On Outty we rank every Faro experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ria Formosa - Boat trip to the 3 Islands: Armona | Culatra Island | Lighthouse, From Faro: Benagil Cave, Marinha & Carvoeiro [Full-Day Tour], Ria Formosa Natural Park and Islands Boat Cruise from Faro. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Faro?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Faro?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
