    Disappointing

Booked a Mt Tambourine Wine Tour for 5 on Sunday for $109 each + $6 booking fee each = $115 in total and did not include lunch (as advertised on their website). Tried calling and even emailed multiple times on different days at different times to speak with someone directly and never got a call back. Weather was great and the driver was lovely, albeit not knowledgeable about the area or wine. Felt a bit duped as we only went to three wineries instead of the four advertised, did not stop at any scenic lookouts, were not offered any snacks or water, nor did we stop at the Cheese Factory. These are all part of the tour as described online. The wineries we did go to were nice, but the second and third were overly busy. The first winery was awesome and we learned a lot about the wine we were being served and about Queensland wine in general. I would review it three stars and I feel that would have been generous but the lack of communication when trying to book the tour itself along with the other problems mentioned results in two stars. I did see the other one star reviews from a year ago and hoped that the company had improved since then but I cannot say it has.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback. The tour you mentioned is $180 per person with a two-course lunch. I have checked your booking, and it clearly states that you booked without lunch. Also, it was only booked a couple of days before the tour. It looks like you have somehow been booked onto the wrong tour.

    Worst experience ever !!

Tour operator didn’t turn up!! We waited 45mins. Finally he responded to numerous calls. Said he wasn’t getting paid by Viator and therefore wouldn’t take us. I suggest Viator remove your 3rd party booking system with him as he is unreliable and unprofessional , I’m waiting for my refund from Viator .

    Don’t book with this agency!

We made reservation and payment thru Marriott Hotel, the travel agency confirmed the tour and payment, never picked us up, we tried many times to call but only an answer machine, I sent emails asking for an explanation and refund but nothing happen. Worst thing is that I received an email the day after asking if we enough the tour!! So I do not want to loose my money. My reservation number was 168703117 for May 19, 2023

    Relaxed, educational and fun.

Had a wonderful relaxed day. Delish cheese, wine, lunch and chocolate and plus shopping time, educated about country, thanks to our great tour gudie/driver Dale. What more could you want from this tour, well nothing, we had a fantastic day. Cheese Dianne and Pete D.

Hinterland Heritage Wine Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Gold Coast.

How much does Hinterland Heritage Wine Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $147 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Gold Coast usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Hinterland Heritage Wine Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Gold Coast is not rushed.

Is Hinterland Heritage Wine Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.7/5 across 29 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Gold Coast, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Hinterland Heritage Wine Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Hinterland Heritage Wine Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Hinterland Heritage Wine Tour?

    +

Around 10 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Gold Coast can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Gold Coast and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Hinterland Heritage Wine Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Gold Coast within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Gold Coast?

    +

On Outty we rank every Gold Coast experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include 2 Hour Ultimate Learn to Surf Adventure, Gold Coast Whale Watching Cruise, Mount Tamborine Wine Tasting Tour from Brisbane or the Gold Coast. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Gold Coast?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Gold Coast?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
