Pollok Country Park has a heard of about 50 Hightland Coos . The park is the largest park in Glasgow at 361 acres with more than 6 miles (11 km) of woodland trails. The park was formerly part of the Old Pollok Estate and it contains Pollok House, which was built in 1752 and was the ancestral home of the Maxwell family. However, the Maxwell family’s roots in Pollok Country Park go back even farther, to the 13th century.

Castle Stalker
Castle Stalker – in the Gaelic, Stalcaire, meaning Hunter or Falconer – is believed originally to have been the site of a Fortalice (a small fortified building) belonging to the MacDougalls when they were Lords of Lorn, and built around 1320. The MacDougalls lost their title after their defeat by King Bruce at Brander Pass in 1308 but regained it for a period after 1328. Wonderful day trip with Troy
Our tour with Troy was excellent! We had such a wonderful day together and it was so wonderful to have a Glaswegian guide take us from Glasgow through the Highlands for the day. At the beginning of the tour he asked a bit about our interests which allowed him to cater the day to us more uniquely. A highlight was Inverary Castle and gardens, but also our time in the seaside town of Oban where Troy brought us to multiple beautiful viewpoints. Troy’s knowledge of Scottish history and culture was excellent and super helpful to us while he provided context for all of our stops.

We saw highland cows, two different castles, the Kelpies.
Troy was a great tour guide. He went out of his way to accommodate the tour for us. I would definitely recommend the tour.

Super day with Troy
Super day with Troy. This was one of the best days we’ve had on our trip so far. Troy was an absolute joy to travel with. He was completely flexible with what we wanted to see, even though we changed plans a couple times mid tour. Absolute top notch.

Accommodating Host with custom planned trip.
Troy was a great tour guide. He helped us custom design our trip and was very knowledgeable about all the things we saw. He was very accommodating and picked up on my wife’s interest in movies that were filmed throughout the highlands. He arranged for the tickets at the Oban distillery and recommended a great fish and chips restaurant to get a snack. We made a special stop to get extremely close to some of the Highland cows which made great pictures. We are looking forward to scheduling our next visit to the Highlands and asking Troy to take us again. Extremely worth the time and cost.
