Teotitlan del Valle
In this wonderful village you will learn from the ancient methods what the community uses to dye their garments and wool mats with natural pigments. You will also learn from their ancestral methods of making their handmade wool textiles and you will know their gallery where they have all their artworks what they make explain step by step every detail of their methods. Also in this town we will visit a workshop of "shell candles" which are made with mother beeswax and talk about their uses and custom of why the making of these candles.

Santa Maria del Tule
The guide will tell you the story of the majestic tule tree that is more than 2000 years old and one of the tallest and widest in the world. As it is the first stop what we did and you did not have time to eat breakfast here the ladies of the village arrive to sell tamales, atoles and tacos of stews you can certainly consume some food before leaving to the next point.

Hierve el Agua
You will enjoy its natural inns and petrified waterfalls. You will also be able to swim and hike with local guides as they offer at the moment of arrival at the entrance where we descend the unit, they are given a voluntary tip. Zona Arqueologica de Mitla

Great tour in the whole, but beware of the hidden costs
The tour was fun-packed and informative without a dull moment. Even though we were taken to some workshops with the idea that tourists would spend money, such as the agave/quartz place, the mezcal retail, the explanations of what Agave can produce and how mezcal is produced is detailed and fascinating, so a lot has been learned along the way. The buffet lunch was also better than expected, as the food was reasonably tasty. The only reason for giving it 9/10 is because there seemed to be costs that were imposed on us without us knowing. For example, the entry fee to Hierve el Agua was 50pesos, but the guide asked for 120. If you hadn't paid attention, you would know the extra you were paying for. When questioned, the guide said the extra was for the tolls etc, but that cost wasn't made explicit, ad I wondered why this cost was borne by the customers. Despite that it wasn't a lot of money, the lack of transparency had made me uncomfortable, and I wondered what hidden costs there had been, such as the entry fees to archeological site.

Great tour to see Hierve el Agua and Mescal making
Excellent experience. It was fun and most importantly we felt safe. There was even an additional stop at the end to a Mexican bakery. This is a must do tour if you are in or around Oaxaca, Mexico. It takes an entire day. We visited a huge tree - one of the biggest in the world, a traditional rug making home business showing the use of natural dyes, a traditional chocolate making business with free samples, a great restaurant for lunch, the Hierve el Agua - the petrified waterfall, and a Mescal factory with free samples.
