Visit an ancient Roman city and admire amazing frescos still nowadays well conserved. The legend tells the founding of Herculaneum by Hercules in 1243 BC. During the Roman Empire it became a resort for wealthy people and intellectuals. Unlike Pompeii, in 79 AD, Herculaneum was buried by 25 meters of muds and other volcanic elements. This important philosophical center got totally forgotten until 1709, when a farmer unearthed precious marbles during digging works for a well. To date, despite its extension, second only to Pompeii’s, only a small portion of the ancient city has been excavated, with archaeologists regularly busy with new discoveries.

A great way to see Herculaneum
Everything went so smoothly from the pick up to the drop-off. The two of us were picked up in a very comfortable large car and taken grom Naples to Pompeii for a simple but delicious lunch. Then six of us were driven on to Herculaneum with Ivana our guide and Roberto our driver. We spent two hours there with an audioguide because we were out of season. Our guide was very friendly and helpful and looked after us really well. Roberto too many was very helpful and a careful driver amid the chaos of driving in Naples. Overall we had a fun, stress-free day out.

Congratulations!!
We had a wonderful trip to the Archaeological Park of Herculaneum and we really want to congratulate the whole team! The organization was perfect from the beginning: the transfer from the hotel to Ercolano was punctual, comfortable and excellent, which made the experience even more relaxing. The guided tour was beautiful and very interesting. Special thanks to Martina, Giovanni and Ileane, who were really professional but also very kind and helpful. The girls in particular were very cute, always attentive and ready to answer questions with enthusiasm and competence. Herculaneum is an extraordinary place, but having such knowledgeable and friendly guides makes the experience even more memorable. We absolutely recommend this visit to anyone coming to Naples. The guides spoke fluent English, Italian and Spanish. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and personable. We were picked up in front of our hotel in Naples and dropped off at the hotel at the end of the tour.

Disorganized but Interesting
The tour guide was knowledgeable and the site was interesting, but the tour description was not clear. We were driven to Pompeii first for lunch, where we met up with a group that toured Pompeii in the morning. We then took another bus to Herculaneum for the tour. This was not clearly conveyed in the description or by the tour organizer.
