Our day at Herculaneum
I gave the guides a lower review, because we had 3 guides. 1 to pick us up from the port. 1 to guide us through our lunch, and a 3rd to drive us to Herculaneum and back to the hotel. The 3rd driver performed a minor miracle of getting us back to the port early, even through crazy traffic in Naples. Hector, Christian and Roberto were all 3 very kind and welcoming. We only joined for lunch and Herculaneum. Lunch was good. At Herculaneum Roberto helped us purchase our tickets. This was not an escorted tour. So we toured in our own with an audio guide which was very informative. All in all, it was a good tour.
Response from the operator: Ciao! Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We’re pleased to hear that Hector, Christian, and Roberto made you feel welcome and that Roberto’s help and excellent driving allowed you to enjoy your visit to Herculaneum and return comfortably on time. We appreciate your feedback and are happy that you had a good experience discovering this incredible historical site. The Staff of Napolicityvision

Excursion to Herculaneum
Do NOT waste your money on this excursion!! Our driver hardly spoke to us. All he did was drive us to our destination and picked us up. He then drove us to a restaurant for pizza that was very mediocre. Our view was a dirty alley. I’m not sure what we paid for! We also had to stand in line and but our own tickets to Herculaneum. A big waste of money.
Response from the operator: We’re sorry you felt disappointed. Our tour includes round-trip transportation, lunch, a guide, and an audio guide. The tickets for Herculaneum can be chosen by each guest, so they were not included automatically. We appreciate your feedback and hope you’ll enjoy a full guided experience on a future visit. Excellent tour of a well...
Excellent tour of a well preserved antiquity. In many ways better than Pompeii. Also not as large so easier to grasp.
Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! We’re thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the tour and found the site both well-preserved and accessible. Your comparison to Pompeii is truly flattering, and we’re glad that the size allowed for a more comprehensive and enjoyable experience. We greatly appreciate your kind words and look forward to welcoming you again in the future. Warm regards, Napoli City Vision Team

A great day visiting Herculaneum!
We all thoroughly enjoyed the trip to Herculaneum. Our guide shared his incredible knowledge of the history of the city of Naples, the science behind the volcanic landscape of the region, and great background on the people who built the city. We had a great lunch at the Pompei location and stopped by the store where cameo jewelry from the region is made. We are thankful to our guide Alessandro for his great knowledge and welcoming personality and our driver Massimo who navigated the streets of Naples with great expertise!

Why this scores 60
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Herculaneum Drive from Naples: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Naples.
How much does Herculaneum Drive from Naples cost?
+
Prices start at $70 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Naples usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Herculaneum Drive from Naples take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Naples is not rushed.
Is Herculaneum Drive from Naples worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Naples, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Herculaneum Drive from Naples?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Herculaneum Drive from Naples suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Herculaneum Drive from Naples?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Naples can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Naples and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Herculaneum Drive from Naples start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Naples within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Naples?
+
On Outty we rank every Naples experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full Day Private Amalfi Coast Tour from Sorrento/Naples/Salerno, Caserta Royal Palace & Gardens Small Group Tour with Shuttle, Naples Pizza and Tiramisu Cooking Class. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Naples?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Naples?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
