    Exceptional cooking class!

Phenomenal cooking class! Good size of 6 people—all lovely, and everyone was enthusiastic. We did and learned a lot—I took a lot of notes. We made a terrific 5 course meal and were busy the whole time but also had time to chat and get to know each other. Rafaela was a terrific teacher and also a hawk master so I feel we got a lot of value from the class. The venue was her home and it was lovely in addition to having a very well equipped kitchen. Can’t say enough about how positive we found the whole experience. I highly recommend this course with Rafaela, who has published cookbooks and has a decent social media following.

A wonderful experience filled with Italian Charm!

Cooking with Raffaella in Umbria was one of the best things we did in Italy. From the moment we arrived at the farmhouse outside Perugia, it felt less like a tour and more like being welcomed into someone's home. Raffaella cooks with real love, and it shows in everything she teaches. We learned the little tricks that make Italian cooking what it is — how ingredients and techniques shift as you move from northern to southern Italy, details you'd never pick up from a cookbook. But the best part was the end of the class: sitting down in her garden to eat the meal we'd just made, drinking wine from her own farm. That's a moment you can't manufacture — it only happens when someone shares their real life with you, not just a recipe. This experience has all the small-town Italian charm you hope for and none of the tourist-trap feel. Highly recommend it to anyone considering it — you won't regret it.

    Interesting course and lovely lunch

We enjoyed the cooking class very much. Rafaella explained the recepies and also told a lot about Umbrian cuisine in general. Afterwards we had a wonderfull home-cooked lunch in the garden! We would recommend this course to anyone!

Hands on Italian Cooking Classes: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Perugia.

How much does Hands on Italian Cooking Classes cost?

    +

Prices start at $160 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Perugia usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Hands on Italian Cooking Classes take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Perugia is not rushed.

Is Hands on Italian Cooking Classes worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 79 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 317 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Perugia, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Hands on Italian Cooking Classes?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Hands on Italian Cooking Classes suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Hands on Italian Cooking Classes?

    +

Around 111 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Perugia can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Perugia and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Hands on Italian Cooking Classes start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Perugia within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Perugia?

    +

On Outty we rank every Perugia experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Taste Perugia: The Original Perugia Food Tour (All-Inclusive), Taste Umbria: Full Meal Walking Tour in Perugia by Do Eat Better, Organic cooking class with a sommelier in an Olive and wine farm. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Perugia?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Perugia?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
