We came for the wine and were amazed by the food.
We had an amazing time at Montioni Frantoio & Cantina. The wine tour was a perfect blend of fun and education where we left knowing a lot more about wine in general, as well as the unique offerings of Montefalco. The tasting was equally enlightening and was paired with some of the most delicious food we had on the trip. Large portions and plenty of opportunity for tasting the wine left us satisfied, yet wanting more. My favorite bite of our entire Umbria experience was the ricotta and wine sauce we had for dessert. Everyone was friendly, attentive and welcoming for our large, sometimes rowdy group. We loved our experience and are thrilled that we get to relive it when we use our olive oil and wine shipped to us in the US.

Best Girls Trip Day
We were on a girls trip and had an amazing cooking class with Wendy! We got to make the food, eat it and taste their wine! We also got a tour of the cellar and olive oil farm. It was truly a wonderful day, and Wendy was awesome. I would highly recommend!

A Lovely Afternoon Among the Vineyards and Olive Groves
What a lovely visit. Jessica was our guide and she did a fabulous job of explaining the wine and olive oil history, the beautiful area we were in and their business. She’s wonderful and very kind in helping accommodate a family member with limited mobility. The lunch with wines and olive oil at the end was delicious. Having been on tours at larger vineyards in Europe and the US, this was so much better. We toured with just our family of 8. Highly recommend!

A nice overview followed by a wonderful lunch.
It is a small winery in a lovely area. The wine quality is excellent. The views from the vineyards stretch forever. Best of all, the lunch that was served gave us full exposure to its wines and olive oil. The tour group was small, so the visit was more intimate than one would experience at larger wineries.

Just what we were looking for
We didn’t book in advance we just walked in and got a private olive oil tasting session with explanations by the owner, who was very nice and informative and helped us decide which oil we want to buy.

Why this scores 76
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Wine Tasting in Montefalco: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Perugia.
How much does Wine Tasting in Montefalco cost?
+
Prices start at $21 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Perugia usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Wine Tasting in Montefalco take?
+
Plan for about 0.8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Perugia is not rushed.
Is Wine Tasting in Montefalco worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 76 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 33 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Perugia, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Wine Tasting in Montefalco?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Wine Tasting in Montefalco suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 0.8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Wine Tasting in Montefalco?
+
Around 12 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Perugia can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Perugia and add a light layer if any part of the 0.8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Wine Tasting in Montefalco start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Perugia within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Perugia?
+
On Outty we rank every Perugia experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Taste Perugia: The Original Perugia Food Tour (All-Inclusive), VIP Tour of Rome (3/5/8hrs) Colosseum & Vatican Museums, Taste Umbria: Full Meal Walking Tour in Perugia by Do Eat Better. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Perugia?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Perugia?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
