Review: I booked the Omkara Ha Long Bay Cruise through Viator, specifically paying a premium of $105 USD for the promised Indian lunch and a luxury limousine bus pick-up from Hanoi. The Bait-and-Switch: Shortly after booking, I was contacted via WhatsApp and told that Omkara is non-operational. This listing should be removed from Viator. I was offered an "alternative," the Diamond Era Cruise, with a firm promise that Indian food would still be provided. The Reality: On the day of the trip, only a standard Vietnamese lunch was provided. No Indian food was available. I had to spend my time raising a formal issue with Viator just to secure a partial refund for the services that were never delivered. Price Transparency: While the Diamond Era Cruise was actually quite good—the itinerary was well-managed, the guide was professional, and the provided limousine transfer was comfortable—this specific listing is a trap. You can find the exact same Diamond Era tour, including the limousine pick-up, for a significantly lower price on sites like Klook or GetYourGuide ($45–$60 USD). Final Verdict: Do not pay $105 (or $85 for only the cruise) for this listing. The operator is using the "Indian Food" promise to charge double the market rate for a standard cruise. If you want the Diamond Era, book it elsewhere for half the cost.
