    Disappointing

Unfortunately we couldn’t get the program to work. We have used other GPS-based podcasts without problem, so I have no idea what we did wrong.

Response from the operator: We’re sorry you weren’t able to get the tour working and missed out on the experience. It’s difficult to tell from your review what went wrong, but we’d welcome more details at info@tripvia.tours, along with your booking reference and phone model. For travellers needing help getting started, our team is also available through the app’s Help button and the contact details in the setup instructions.

It was an okay tour. We...

It was an okay tour. We had no maps to be able to follow each location. I would have preferred going on guided tour.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your feedback. It sounds like the interactive map included within the app may have been missed. It shows each location along the route, and the introductory tutorials explain how to access and use it. We understand that some travellers may still prefer having an in-person guide, and we appreciate you giving the self-guided format a try.

    Great tour!

The tour narrative is informative, entertaining, and just the right length at each stop. We experienced a glitch or two with the app, but our overall experience with the app was good. The tour took us close to three hours to complete (interest in the tour content combined with slow walkers!). I would definitely recommend and would take additional tours offered by this creator/operator.

Response from the operator: hank you for the 5⭐ review! We’re delighted that the flexibility to explore at your own pace worked so well for you, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the stories and take a leisurely walk through Halifax. We appreciate your patience with the couple of app glitches and are pleased they didn’t take away from your overall experience. Thank you for the recommendation - it means a lot that you would consider trying another one of our tours!

    Take a Walk! Great Experience

What a great way to leisurely see points of interest and learn things at one’s own pace. There was free street parking near the starting point. The “guide” provided interesting facts along the way, and we saw some things that we would have missed otherwise. The Public Gardens are phenomenal. P.S. We are boomers and found the audio your tour to be very user friendly to download, set up, and use.

Response from the operator: Thank you for the wonderful 5⭐ review! We’re so glad you enjoyed discovering Halifax through the stories and sights along the way - the Public Gardens really are phenomenal. We also truly appreciate your note about how easy the app was to download, set up, and use. Making our tours simple and enjoyable for everyone is important to us, so it means a lot to hear that it felt so straightforward. Thank you for sharing your experience!

    Pretty Good

The auto-launching feature didn’t work for me. Other than that, this was a good tour. I was able to go at my own pace, and even take a break to stop into a shop or two.

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed exploring Halifax and appreciated the flexibility to move through the tour at your own pace. Thank you as well for noting the auto‑launching issue - that feature relies on the phone’s GPS signal, and when the connection fluctuates it can affect how quickly points trigger the narration. It’s great that you were able to switch to manual play and continue the experience. And it sounds like your mid‑tour retail therapy break added a nice bonus to the day. Thanks again for sharing your feedback - we appreciate it.

Halifax Churches, Gardens & Graveyards Self-Guided Audio Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Halifax.

How much does Halifax Churches, Gardens & Graveyards Self-Guided Audio Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $9 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Halifax usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Halifax Churches, Gardens & Graveyards Self-Guided Audio Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Halifax is not rushed.

Is Halifax Churches, Gardens & Graveyards Self-Guided Audio Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 30 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Halifax, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Halifax Churches, Gardens & Graveyards Self-Guided Audio Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Halifax Churches, Gardens & Graveyards Self-Guided Audio Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Halifax Churches, Gardens & Graveyards Self-Guided Audio Tour?

    +

Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Halifax can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Halifax and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Halifax Churches, Gardens & Graveyards Self-Guided Audio Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Halifax within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Halifax?

    +

On Outty we rank every Halifax experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Small Group Tour - Peggy's Cove, Lunenburg, the Annapolis Valley, Wine and Lunch Escape, Half-Day Historical Tour of Halifax. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Halifax?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Halifax?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
