The day went smoothly from pick up to drop off. Daniella was our guide and was so knowledgeable! There was no way we would have gotten half as much if we did this on our own. Thank you!

    Just an OK tour

The tour may or may not start on time. Our booking said pickup at 8AM, but in reality we were picked up at 9. We purposefully picked the early time because our tour is in summer and we wanted to try and get to Pompeii before the heat of the day. The delay put us starting at 10, already hot. Our guide, Sebastian, did give a lot of helpful info during the tour but his pace was slow enough that we did not get to see much overall. This tour did NOT go to the amphitheater, the port, the museum or any of the famous mosaics.

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are pleased to hear that you appreciated Sebastian’s knowledge and the information he provided during your visit to Pompeii. We are sorry that the timing did not fully meet your expectations. As this is a **shared tour**, pickup times may occasionally vary due to the collection of other participants, traffic conditions, and operational logistics. For this reason, a certain degree of flexibility with the scheduled pickup time is sometimes necessary. Regarding the visit inside Pompeii, the archaeological site is extremely large, and a guided tour cannot cover every area and attraction. Our guides select a route that allows guests to discover some of the most significant parts of the site while also providing historical explanations and context. The exact itinerary can also vary depending on crowds, accessibility, temporary closures, and conditions inside the archaeological park. We truly appreciate your comments, as they help us continue improving our organization and communication with our guests. Thank you for choosing us, and we hope you still took home some wonderful memories of Pompeii.

    A great Pompeii experience.

My driver Antonello, picked me up exactly as advised and he was able to point out lots of interesting things on our way to Pompeii. He was a polite and considerate driver. The guide at the site was excellent. She knew her stuff and was much more interesting than other guides I could hear. She encouraged questions and gave plenty of time for viewing and photographs. Loved it.

Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you very much for your wonderful review! We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your experience with us. Antonello will be very happy to know that his punctuality, professionalism, and the information he shared during the drive made your journey to Pompeii even more enjoyable. We are also pleased that you appreciated your guide's knowledge and passion. Our goal is always to provide an engaging and informative experience while giving our guests enough time to enjoy the site, ask questions, and take memorable photos. Thank you once again for choosing Aiana Travel. We truly appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you back to Italy for another unforgettable experience in the future. Kind regards, Aiana Travel

    Pompeii in half a day

Irena was in contact with me the day before to coordinate our pickup in Amalfi. We were onboard a cruise ship. On the morning of the tour, our driver Mr. Michele D'Auria was texting early. Once we got to the meeting point on shore, I texted we were there and he called. He was already there. He was from Pompeii so he had a wealth of knowledge and the city, old and new. His driving on the extremely curvy and narrow roads was excellent. He took us to the tour guide station at the site and had us join a group. Pompeii was excellent! A must see. It has been on our list for several years and it didn't disappoint. Only thing I would add is more time in cooler weather but that is all on me. I guess we will just have to come back. The tour company Aiana Travel and their representatives have all been easy to communicate with.

Half Day Tour to Pompeii from Ravello: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Pompeii.

How much does Half Day Tour to Pompeii from Ravello cost?

    +

Prices start at $159 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Pompeii usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Half Day Tour to Pompeii from Ravello take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Pompeii is not rushed.

Is Half Day Tour to Pompeii from Ravello worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 41 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Pompeii, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Half Day Tour to Pompeii from Ravello?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Half Day Tour to Pompeii from Ravello suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Half Day Tour to Pompeii from Ravello?

    +

Around 14 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Pompeii can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Pompeii and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Half Day Tour to Pompeii from Ravello start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Pompeii within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Pompeii?

    +

On Outty we rank every Pompeii experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Premium Minivan Trip from Rome: Pompeii Tour & Lunch in Sorrento, Skip the Line Guided Tour of Pompeii Led by an Archaeologist, Explore Pompeii with an Archaeologist. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Pompeii?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Pompeii?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
