Laid back tour of Zhujiajiao
We took a half day tour of Zhujiajiao with our guide, Blake. The tour was a refreshing break from the fast pace of downtown Shanghai. The quiet town of Zhujiajiao has maintained its charm over the years. The tour went at a relaxed pace, as we meandered through the streets and a brief boat ride through one of the canals. We were not taken to specific places for shopping or meals. Blake offered to recommend places if we were interested, but we chose not to, and we were not pressured. Blake was very personable, and knowledgeable about the town and its history, He speaks English very well, and is easy to understand, We arranged through the tour company for a fee to be picked up from SHA after an early morning flight, and were taken directly to the town to start our tour. Following the tour, for another fee, we were dropped off at our accommodations out by PVG airport. That convenience saved us half a day of travel! Blake even helped us with straighten out some money complications we were having with another vendor, and gave us detailed instructions on transportation options in Shanghai after our tour. We highly recommend Blake as a tour guide!
Response from the operator: Dear randallw799, Thank you for your kindness to post this review here. We are more than happy to know that you were happy with both our mini group Shanghai day tour service and our guide Blake. We are also grateful that you can share your travel feelings with other tourists who plan to visit Shanghai in the future. Thanks again for your support on our work and wish to serve you next time. One day Suzhou day tour from Shanghai
We booked a day tour to Suzhou from Shanghai. The guide Andy Qian picked us up with the driver at the hotel. 10 min prior to the arranged time, he called to inform us that he had arrived n was waiting in the lobby. Andy was patient , helpful n answered all the questions we had for him. The tour was well conducted n we truly enjoyed ourselves. He even bought an ice cream for my Daughter! He took the extra miles by texting us the instructions of how to get to the Mercedes Benz cultural center when he knew we were going there the next day. And he gave us his number so that we can call him should we require any further assistance. He also made sure that the train tickets have arrived for our second tour to Hangzhou. We will certainly book with Travel China Guide tours again.
Response from the operator: Dear lovejapan2014, Thank you for sharing your tour review with us! It is a great joy to see that that our guide Andy’s thoughtful service and excellent knowledge has made your Suzhou experience enjoyable. He will be encouraged when he receives your positive comments on him. Thanks for your highly praise on our service and we hope that you can use our service again in the near future. Have a nice day!

A wonderful tour
We had a great time with our tour guide Kris. He met us in the evening at the train station, and made sure we were comfortable at our hotel. The next morning, he took us on a boat cruise on the Hu River where we got spectacular views of the skyline of Shanghai. After our tour, he took us to Old Town Shanghai, where we got a good look at the old buildings in this district. While there, we toured the Yu Garden where we got away from the crowds. Yu Garden was beautifully landscaped with rocks, trees, flowers, and water features that were filled with Koi. All of this and a quaint 500 year-old building. Kris took us to a high quality tea shop, where we were able to taste different teas before we bought them. We then had a wonderful luncheon in the old town area.
Response from the operator: Dear dankas1361, We are happy to read your comments again and know that you have had a good time in Shanghai with your guide Chris’ company. Thank you for your support. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you need any further help. Best wishes!

One day tour to Suzhou from Shanghai
Our Tourist guide Mr. Ocean was great. He and a driver were on time in our hotel. Although there was a traffic jam Ocean made our drive interesting. His english was good and his knowledge about the gardens, city, silk and the history of China was even better. He gave a quick overview of China and its people. He took us in the local restaurant and lunch was delicious. He was very good at the silk factory - he could sell a lot in their store. I recommend this tour with Ocean. Elaine & Mojca

Why this scores 61
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Half Day Shanghai Tour to Zhujiajiao Water Town: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Shanghai.
How much does Half Day Shanghai Tour to Zhujiajiao Water Town cost?
+
Prices start at $135 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Shanghai usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Half Day Shanghai Tour to Zhujiajiao Water Town take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Shanghai is not rushed.
Is Half Day Shanghai Tour to Zhujiajiao Water Town worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Shanghai, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Half Day Shanghai Tour to Zhujiajiao Water Town?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Half Day Shanghai Tour to Zhujiajiao Water Town suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Half Day Shanghai Tour to Zhujiajiao Water Town?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Shanghai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Shanghai and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Half Day Shanghai Tour to Zhujiajiao Water Town start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Shanghai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Shanghai?
+
On Outty we rank every Shanghai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Shanghai Full Day City Tour with Old and New Highlights, Suzhou Private Day Trip from Shanghai with Bullet Train Option, 4-Hour Flexible Private Shanghai City Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Shanghai?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Shanghai?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
