What you'll see and do
Sea Kayak Krabi
Get picked up by our friendly driver and take a 20 minute scenic drive through rural villages to the incredible, karst-dotted Thalane Bay, located in the north of Krabi. After arriving at the kayaking center with a private pier, enjoy a coffee while your guide will prepare the equipment and study the tide tables. Get a short briefing on how to use the paddles before boarding the open kayaks. Start paddling a short distance through open water from the launching point to the mangroves forest of Ao Thalane. The guide will lead you through shallow channels, over submerged roots and even paddle right next to almost vertical limestone cliffs, towering above you. Spot cliffs with supposedly thousand year old historical paintings done by sea gypsies who once lived in these area. At times, stop paddling and just listen. Silence, except for occasional sound of cicadas and rustling of leaves overhead. The aerial roots of the mangroves at Ao Thalane are home to many crustaceans which attract many game fish like snappers in these waters. Some parts of the journey requires you to negotiate sharp turns in tight spaces as you wave your way through the forest. Therefore, this tour is specially designed making it semi-private, a maximum of 10 people to one guide. Enjoy the undeveloped environment without unpleasant crowds. Enter a large cave with stalagmites and stalactites which was named the Crocodile Cave, probably because some of the hanging stalactites may look like a crocodile to those with a bit of imagination. You can spot several species of birds and monkeys, in particular the crab-eating macaque monkey, and if you are lucky large water monitors (a lizard that looked like the Komodo Dragon). Leave the cave, and continue through a lagoon on your way out from the forest. Surrounded by the limestone karsts, this spectacular seascape at this part of Ao Thalane is the filming location for many movies. The total paddle time is around 2 hours, not including breaks. A set menu lunch is available if you have booked the lunch option, for those who prefer to strengthen themselves for the kayaking session. Great day
This was one of my favourite tours in Krabi. Our guide Bang, was extremely knowledgeable, kind & funny! He provided us with safety instructions and allowed us to enjoy our day kayaking around the man grooves. It was so peaceful & to top it off we saw a kingfisher & some monkeys!! We also paid the extra money (£6 I think it was) for the lunch option, which the food was unreal!! Honestly one of my favourite days of the holiday!

Highly Recommend!
My husband and I did the half-day tour with Ae, and it was an incredible experience! I booked it online the day before we were going to go. Shortly after, we received an email that included the time we would be picked up from our hotel. We were the only ones in the car and the driver was very friendly. When we got to the place, we found out we were the only ones in the group, so we had Ae, our guide, all to ourselves! Since it was just us, he suggested that instead of going to the canyon, where most people go, we go instead in the other direction to go through the mangroves and see a cave. We got to see monitor lizards, sea otters, sea eagles, and a monkey! Ae was so interesting to talk to, and he also took amazing photographs and videos of us all during the trip. They were truly artistic and beautiful. We loved learning about him growing up learning from his dad about fishing, and about the environment and how things had changed over history due to development and global warming. It was such a fun morning.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your amazing experience! We're thrilled you enjoyed the personalized tour with Ae and had the chance to explore the mangroves and see such incredible wildlife. It sounds like a perfect mix of adventure, nature, and meaningful conversation. We're glad the photos and stories added to your special day—thank you for recommending us! 😊🛶

Best Activity in Krabi
We booked the tour a day before from Ao Nang beach market. The pickup was around 8.15 from hotel. We were 5 people including 2 kids (6, 13 yrs) and mother (70+ yrs). For mother we requested the guide to take her in his kayak for which he charged additional 300 Bhat. The total length of Kayaking part was arnd 7 KM and it though the water was quite calm, it was still quite a work to kayak all the way. There was a break for arnd 10-15 mins on a beach towards the end of journey. We had to leave our bags at a small room at the pier and they gave us water bag to keep valuables and phones on the kayak itself. Also provided us a water bottle each. Unfortunately a monkey jumped on our kayak during mangroves part and took the bottle away. We had booked kayak + Elephant safari tour so we also got lunch at the end of kayak. Good vegetarian Thai food

Half-Day Sea Kayaking Adventure in Ao Thalane Bay from Krabi: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Krabi.
How much does Half-Day Sea Kayaking Adventure in Ao Thalane Bay from Krabi cost?
+
Prices start at $800 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Krabi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Half-Day Sea Kayaking Adventure in Ao Thalane Bay from Krabi take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Krabi is not rushed.
Is Half-Day Sea Kayaking Adventure in Ao Thalane Bay from Krabi worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 50 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Krabi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Half-Day Sea Kayaking Adventure in Ao Thalane Bay from Krabi?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Half-Day Sea Kayaking Adventure in Ao Thalane Bay from Krabi suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Half-Day Sea Kayaking Adventure in Ao Thalane Bay from Krabi?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Krabi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Krabi and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Half-Day Sea Kayaking Adventure in Ao Thalane Bay from Krabi start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Krabi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Krabi?
+
On Outty we rank every Krabi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full-Day Phi Phi Islands Tour with Lunch from Krabi, Phi Phi Early Bird & 4 Islands - Day Tour by Speedboat From Krabi, Railay and 4-Island Sunset Speedboat Cruise with Night Snorkel. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Krabi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Krabi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
