Disappointed

Very disappointed. The journey was horrendous. I managed 14000 steps on my Fitbit whilst in the 4x4. The driver was in a separate cab so we had no commentary. We only saw a crocodile, mongoose, a dung beetle and a jungle fowl. We were pleased we only booked the half day tour.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your comment regarding the Half day safari at Yala National Park. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you experienced during the safari. Our group consisted of approximately 46 passengers from your ship, and we made every effort to ensure the satisfaction of each individual on the safari. Given the scarcity of available Nature Trekkers in Yala National Park and the considerable number of passengers on your cruise, organizing a Nature Trekker for each jeep posed a considerable challenge. Despite these constraints, it's noteworthy that the majority of clients were pleased with the safari experiences facilitated by our team within the park. It's essential to highlight that the optimal time for animal sightings in Yala National Park is typically between 6:00 and 7:00 am. Unfortunately, your ship arrived at Hambantota Harbor at 7:00 am. To ensure a seamless experience, we diligently commenced the tour after confirming the arrival and readiness of all participants. Our team is committed to providing a satisfying and memorable safari adventure, even under challenging logistical circumstances.

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
