We highly recommend the Company and, in particular, Cervando, for anyone looking knowledgeable, professional, and person
Our experience with the tour was exceptional, largely due to our outstanding driver and guide, Cervando. He is highly professional, knowledgeable, and knows Puerto Vallarta like the palm of his hand. What made the tour particularly valuable was the opportunity to experience both the modern, popular tourist areas and the less-touristy, more authentic parts of Puerto Vallarta. The contrast between these areas provided a unique perspective and made the tour much more interesting and memorable. Cervando was accommodating, attentive, considerate, and genuinely friendly throughout the entire experience. His professionalism and local knowledge greatly enhanced the tour.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review. I was a real pleasure spending the day with you and Hermie, and sharing some of my favorite places in Puerto Vallarta. I believe the city is much more than its beautiful beaches and famous landmarks, and I'm always happy when guests enjoy discovering the local neighborhoods, history , and everyday life that makes Puerto Vallarta so special. Your kind words about my professionalism and hospitality truly mean a great deal to me. Knowing that you left with a deeper appreciation of the city is the greatest compliment I could receive. Thank you again for choosing to tour with me I hope our paths cross again the next time you're in Puerto Vallarta. Until then. All the best!

Our tour with Cervando was wonderful!
My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous tour of Puerto Vallarta with Cervando. He took us to all the areas of the city and was extremely knowledgeable of the history of the whole region. We thoroughly enjoyed his tour and his pride and passion for sharing his culture and history. We highly recommend any tour with Cervando and My Vallarta Tours. We will definitely book another tour the next time we visit. He is a great person and truly cares that you have a custom tailored experience. Thank you for a great day!

Highly enjoyable day!
We had a wonderful time with Cervando! He took great care of us, and was very accommodating to our needs, as my older father needed extra time to walk slow and rest. We also loved that he was thoughtful and courteous with the locals. He was very knowledgeable about the city, since he was raised here, and has spent many years in the tour industry. We never felt compelled to spend any extra money. It was simply a leisurely time that we enjoyed sightseeing, talking, and resting. We are very grateful for such a great time today!
Response from the operator: Hello Elke, thank you so much for your wonderful review! We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your Private tour with our guide Cervando. We are so glad we could be a memorable part of your trip to Puerto Vallarta. Hope to see you again someday!

Cervando is smart, charming, funny and compassionate. We had a delightful time and wish we had more!

Ceravado is the Best!
I hope we spelled his name correctly but Ceravado is really the best. We are mother and daughter travellers (48 and 73) who are not in ideal shape. We are also pretty low key when it comes to food and alcohol so he had his hands full trying to figure us out. But he did just that, he gave us the main highlights, walked us through a market and taught us so many things about his culture. He was so respectful and helped us in and out at every stop, he is so very kind. He really made it a “private tour” no pressure to shop at a jewelry store or take you to a tequila tasting (unless you want to). It really was a choose your own adventure and it was lovely.
Response from the operator: Cheryle, thank you so much for taking the time to share a review on your tour with Cervando. We greatly appreciate it. We’re happy to hear you enjoyed your tour of Puerto Vallarta with us. We look forward to seeing you again to share with you more of Mexico.

Why this scores 70
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Half day Private tour of Puerto Vallarta with a Local Guide: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Puerto Vallarta.
How much does Half day Private tour of Puerto Vallarta with a Local Guide cost?
+
Prices start at $225 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Puerto Vallarta usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Half day Private tour of Puerto Vallarta with a Local Guide take?
+
Plan for about 5.3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Puerto Vallarta is not rushed.
Is Half day Private tour of Puerto Vallarta with a Local Guide worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 36 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Puerto Vallarta, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Half day Private tour of Puerto Vallarta with a Local Guide?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Half day Private tour of Puerto Vallarta with a Local Guide suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5.3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Half day Private tour of Puerto Vallarta with a Local Guide?
+
Around 13 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Puerto Vallarta can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Puerto Vallarta and add a light layer if any part of the 5.3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Half day Private tour of Puerto Vallarta with a Local Guide start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Puerto Vallarta within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Puerto Vallarta?
+
On Outty we rank every Puerto Vallarta experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Winner 2026 Downtown Vallarta Food Tour with Vallarta Food Tours, Signature Taco Tour in PV with Vallarta Eats, Food & Mixology Tour:Tequila,Tacos, Mezcal and Agave Cocktails. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Puerto Vallarta?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Puerto Vallarta?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
