Formiga with the family
We went down the Formigal canyon today with David. Very complete and with more variety than the Peonera, rappels, jumps, and slides. We had a great time. Thanks to Avalancha and especially to David for his guidance.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your review!

Breathtaking family outing
My family of 4 did the Marble & Johnson Canyon Icewalk tour and absolutely loved it. Michael and Josh were both kind and easy going to make for an extremely memorable trip. They are very knowledgeable of the area and provided lots of fun facts. This mama felt very safe with them behind the wheel of the van and walking the trails. They have all of the necessary equipment with pick up/drop off being very easy. I’ll admit, my teenager’s favorite part was the provided cookies :)
Response from the operator: Cookies and hot chocolate just taste better in the backcountry :) We are happy to share your kind words with Michael and Josh, and it makes our day to hear they made such a positive difference to you adventure in Banff. We hope you can join us again for more cookies.

2 Canyons are better than 1!
It was great to experience 2 totally different canyons. At the busier Johnston Canyon, our wonderful tour guide, Brian, did an excellent job of staggering the timing so we could dodge the other groups to better enjoy the Lower Falls. At Marble Canyon, there were very few other people besides our group. Our family really enjoyed this tour.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your review! We designed this program to give visitors 2 very different experiences in one 1/2-day tour. We are glad you enjoyed your day in the Canadian Rockies, and that our guide Brian made such a positive difference for you.

Wonderful view and walk
Amazing views and your guide from Josh! We loved seeing Marble Canyon in the morning sunlight. Would highly recommend the tour - thanks for a great morning.
Response from the operator: Hi Helena, Thank you so much for your review! We love the contrast between Johnston Canyon and the more secluded/lesser known Marble Canyon. Glad to hear you enjoyed your guide!

Wonderful Half Day Excursion
Collected at the pick up time, had a wonderful walk to Johnston Canyon lowers falls in Banff National Park AB and then on to Marble Canyon in Kootenay National Park BC the views were stunning, my guides provided great info along the way and were very welcoming. Ice cleats were provided and we had hot chocolate and maple biscuits 😋
Response from the operator: Thank you for your review! We really loke this program for the variety it offers, while keeping the time outdoors limited to 1 hour max before warming up in the vans while making our way to the next adventure. The cookies and hot chocolate always test best after a bit of exploring :)

Half Day Marble and Johnston Canyon Ice Walk Combo Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Banff.
How much does Half Day Marble and Johnston Canyon Ice Walk Combo Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $83 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Banff usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Half Day Marble and Johnston Canyon Ice Walk Combo Tour take?
+
Plan for about 4.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Banff is not rushed.
Is Half Day Marble and Johnston Canyon Ice Walk Combo Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Banff, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Half Day Marble and Johnston Canyon Ice Walk Combo Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Half Day Marble and Johnston Canyon Ice Walk Combo Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 8. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 4.5-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Half Day Marble and Johnston Canyon Ice Walk Combo Tour?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Banff can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Banff and add a light layer if any part of the 4.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Half Day Marble and Johnston Canyon Ice Walk Combo Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Banff within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Banff?
+
On Outty we rank every Banff experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lake Louise, Moraine Lake and the Icefields Parkway Full-Day Tour, Hop-On and Hop-Off Banff Bus, ShuttleBus 2way Banff to Lake Louise (1Hr) and Moraine Lake (1Hr). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Banff?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Banff?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
