Fabulous half day waterfall hike. Highly recommend it!

Had a wonderful 3 hour hike with David. It was just my husband and I so David tailored the difficulty to our level. We hiked to 3 waterfalls in Pisgah National forest then drove part of the Blue Ridge Parkway. The hike was easy/moderately challenging and perfect for us. David was a terrific companion. Knowledgeable and interesting, and even a great baker. As other reviewers said, he shares home baked cookies at the end of the hike. They were great! It was a really terrific half day activity and i would highly recommend it.

Response from the operator: Thank you for this great review. I am so happy that you enjoyed our hike, and the cookies. It was truly a pleasure to meet you both, and show you a few of the beautiful features in our forest.

    Amazing experience-awesome guide

David is a friendly, knowledgeable guide. We stopped by Looking Glass Falls first which was nice b/c it was pretty much just us at that time-when we passed by later it was super crowded. Then we drove to a trail head & hiked to three different waterfalls along that trail. It felt like we hit some secret spots because we only saw a few other people on that trail & we didn’t even see them until the end. Drove the scenic route back along the Blue Ridge Parkway. The tour is described as moderate & we’d agree with that. (We rewarded ourselves w/ a visit to a brewery later that day!!) It was great, we highly recommend this tour & David, of course:) Next time we visit we will check out one of his kayak tours. 10/10-beautiful- you won’t regret it.

Response from the operator: Thank you, and I am happy that you enjoyed the hike, and the beautiful views along the Blueridge Parkway. I, very much, enjoyed hiking with you. 😉

    Beautiful

The hike was fun and the waterfalls beautiful. Be prepared for trails being blocked by fallen trees and maybe having to pivot.

Response from the operator: Thank you, Donna. Yes nature is full of surprises, as we found out on our hike. I always have a backup plan for such events. I am happy you two enjoyed the hike. It was a pleasure hiking with you.

If it were easy, everyone would be doing it!

Be prepared for the kind of adventure you hope for when you say, “Let’s do something fun today.” The trail was easy to handle and had just the right edge to keep things from getting boring...until we got closer to the waterfalls, where it turned into the kind of challenge that reminds you "if it were easy, everyone would be doing it!". We didn't just admire that final view… we jumped straight into the water like the grand finale the day deserved.

Response from the operator: Susan, it was such a pleasure meeting, and hiking with you and Kelsey. It was a very enjoyable day for me as well.

David was knowledgeable, friendly and a pleasure to spend 4 hours with him. Rick and Sandy

Response from the operator: Hey there! Thank you for sharing your get away time with me. I'm so happy you enjoyed the time, and beautiful waterfalls in our incredible mountains.

Half Day Hike - Water Falls: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Asheville.

How much does Half Day Hike - Water Falls cost?

    +

Prices start at $85 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Asheville usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Half Day Hike - Water Falls take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Asheville is not rushed.

Is Half Day Hike - Water Falls worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 76 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 69 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Asheville, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Half Day Hike - Water Falls?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Half Day Hike - Water Falls suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Half Day Hike - Water Falls?

    +

Around 24 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Asheville can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Asheville and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Half Day Hike - Water Falls start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Asheville within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Asheville?

    +

Asheville pairs Biltmore Estate visits with Blue Ridge Parkway waterfall tours, brewery crawls through one of the densest beer scenes in America, and guided hikes in Pisgah. Biltmore ticket handling and parkway route detail are what to check. On Outty we rank every Asheville experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Blue Ridge Parkway and Waterfall Hiking Tour from Asheville, Asheville Historic Downtown Guided Electric Bike Tour with Scenic Views, Gem Mining and Goat Farm Walking Tour in Hendersonville. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Asheville?

    +

April to June and October for autumn colour. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Asheville?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
