As access to the mosque is reserved for Muslims, the explanation will be given from the esplanade and the surrounding areas of the square, where we enjoy a remarkable view of its iconic minaret. I will present its fascinating history, its role as a landmark for travelers over the centuries, and its influence on Almohad and Andalusian architecture in the region.
