Great time.
Had a great time. Crew was awesome. Caught alot of fish. Ac in cabin area was a plus. Will be booking again.
Response from the operator: Plenty of fish coming over the rail and a great crew helping along the way sounds like a successful half-day on the Gulf, Jerrel! We're glad you had such a good time and that having an air-conditioned cabin available gave you a comfortable place to cool off between fishing stops. Hearing that you're already planning to book again is one of the best compliments we can receive. Thank you for choosing Hubbard's Marina for your 5-hour half-day fishing trip from John's Pass in Madeira Beach. We look forward to having you back aboard for another day of tight lines and plenty of fish!

Thanks for the Experience
The people are so friendly and had no problem assisting and showing you what to do! From the parking to the trip itself everyone was so nice and professional!

Don’t expect to catch...
Don’t expect to catch large fish. Small fish, pan size like mangrove snapper are more likely. August is very hot! We were disappointed the mate did not keep track of the few fish that we actually caught and put them on the wrong stringer.

Mixed Bag
It was a nice trip. Definitely needed Dramamine! The crew was good. A mixed bag in terms of enthusiasm. The woman on land who greeted passengers at the beginning and shepherded them into lines for fish filet was ill-tempered and clearly hated her job. Watched her the day before as well when we went on shelling trip. Similarly ill-tempered. Trips like this are sort of like a restaurant - if the appetizer and dessert are terrible, it really casts a shadow on the main dish even if excellent. She should do better or find other work.

Great time on 5 hour fishing tour
We had a great time on our 5 hour fishing tour. The guides on the boat were a great help with everything. They showed us how to fish, gathered the fish we caught and helped if we got our line caught or anything while fishing. I would recommend getting the shrimp live bait. We took our catch next door and had it for lunch. We and just about everyone on the boat rented rods and they worked well.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience, Derek! We're so glad you had a great time on your Half Day Fishing Trip from John's Pass and that our crew was there to help every step of the way, from offering fishing tips to untangling lines and making sure everyone had a successful day on the water. It's especially great to hear the live shrimp bait helped make the trip even more enjoyable. One of the best traditions at Hubbard's Marina is taking your fresh catch next door to The Friendly Fisherman to enjoy a delicious cook-your-catch meal, and we're happy you were able to experience that as well. We appreciate your recommendation and look forward to welcoming you back to Madeira Beach for another fishing adventure soon!

The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Half Day Fishing Experience from John's Pass in Madeira Beach, FL - 5 Hours: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for St Petersburg.
How much does Half Day Fishing Experience from John's Pass in Madeira Beach, FL - 5 Hours cost?
+
Prices start at $95 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in St Petersburg usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Half Day Fishing Experience from John's Pass in Madeira Beach, FL - 5 Hours take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in St Petersburg is not rushed.
Is Half Day Fishing Experience from John's Pass in Madeira Beach, FL - 5 Hours worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 311 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in St Petersburg, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Half Day Fishing Experience from John's Pass in Madeira Beach, FL - 5 Hours?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Half Day Fishing Experience from John's Pass in Madeira Beach, FL - 5 Hours suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Half Day Fishing Experience from John's Pass in Madeira Beach, FL - 5 Hours?
+
Around 109 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in St Petersburg can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in St Petersburg and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Half Day Fishing Experience from John's Pass in Madeira Beach, FL - 5 Hours start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central St Petersburg within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in St Petersburg?
+
St Petersburg pairs beach time with a dense arts district: Dali Museum entry, mural walking tours, clear-kayak paddles through mangrove tunnels and boat runs out to Egmont Key and Shell Key. On Outty we rank every St Petersburg experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Clear Kayak Tour of Shell Key Preserve and Tampa Bay Area, St. Petersburg Jungle Prada Site History Tour, Island Sunset and Skyway Light Show - 3hr Boat Cruise in St. Pete. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit St Petersburg?
+
October to April, before the summer heat and afternoon storms. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in St Petersburg?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
