Li River
It is about an 80-minute drive from your Guilin hotel to Yangdi, where you will take an electric boat to Xingping. Please note that the section from Yangdi to Xingping is the most beautiful part of the Li River between Guilin and Yangshuo. Most of the photos you see in guidebooks or online are taken along this stretch. The electric boat ride from Yangdi to Xingping lasts about one hour and offers a more authentic experience, allowing you to get closer to the area’s natural beauty. Along the way, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of towering karst peaks in various shapes, crystal-clear waters, lush green hills, bamboo groves, and riverside villages. If you’re lucky, you might also see water buffalo, cormorants with fishermen, or orange groves. This unique scenery will surely become one of the highlights of your tour in China. Note: Each boat accommodates four passengers, so you will share the cruise with other tourists.

Xianggong Mountain
After lunch in Xingping Old Town, we will drive to Xianggong Hill—a perfect destination for those who want to experience the karst scenery up close. The 20-minute hike to the top is well worth the effort, as it offers one of the most stunning panoramic views in the region. From the summit, you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking vista of the Li River winding through towering karst peaks. Unlike the river cruise, where you look up at the hills, climbing Xianggong Hill allows you to stand above them, giving you a completely different perspective. You’ll feel on top of the world, with the peaks below you. This is truly one of China’s most spectacular sights and a must-see for any visitor.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
