The Acropolis stood on the hill now known as Monte Smith. The green and beautifully laid out archaeological park contains the Hellenistic stadium, built in the 3rd century BC. Next to the stadium is the small restored Roman Odeon. On the summit of the Acropolis stands the temple of Pythion Apollo, the patron deity of the city. From here there is a panoramic view of the city and the sea. The sunsets are breathtaking.

Street of the Knights
The street of the Knights (Odós Ippotón) is one of the highlights of the Medieval Town of Rhodos. It is a fascinating and obligatory visit for all guided tours, one of the most admired attractions in the Old Town. Following an almost exact east to west direction, the well preserved cobble paved street uses, in part, an ancient straight road that connected the port with the Acropolis of Rhodos. The medieval road is about 600m long. Starts from the square in front of the Knights’ Hospital, the seat of Archeological Museum and leads to the Grand Master’s Palace.

Ancient Olympic Stadium - Rhodes
The Rhodes Stadium is located to the west of Rhodes Town on Monte Smith Hill and was constructed in the 2nd century B.C. Under the Hellenistic influence on Rhodes, the locals took on the Greek gods and there are the remains of the temples of Zeus, Athena, Apollo and Helios above the ancient Stadium of Rhodes. Originally the Stadium was built to be used in events relating to the Cult of Apollo and, it is thought, for the Rhodian School of Rhetoric. Today, the Stadium has been restored and is sometimes used for musical or theatrical performances. It seats 800 spectators and measures 200 meters by 35 meters.

Plus, the chance to explore the old town further at your own pace afterward is a fantastic addition! After your dinner (around 21.00 pm) you have two options: You continue your night listening Greek music and dancing until 22.00 pm or you can spend the rest of your time walking around the famous streets of the Old Town. The fantastic night out ends around 22.00 pm. With your Guide you return walking to the bus and after, back to your hotels.

Mixed feelings
I have very mixed feelings about this tour. It started with a bus tour, so we stopped at the acropolis and at Mandraki harbour (the stroll in front of the aquarium never happened). Then we had 2 hours free time (!) and then half an hour walk in front of the castle and the street of the knights. Many in the group were very angry with this, so we insisted for a longer tour. So this last part lasted for 1 hour instead of 30 minutes, and then the next day the tour guide took us to the moat and told us some very interesting stories about Rhodes free of charge. It was very kind of the tour guide to do so the next day and we enjoyed a lot, but it is totally ridiculous for the company to advertise a walking tour of Rhodes town and most of the time to be free time to shop!
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for the comments .The tour contains panoramic bus tour of the new city and walking tour in the old town.Second ,my Dear Ioanna because of your misaderstanding of the tour you start to complain in front of the group with a ridiculous way and you destroy the calmness of the group .The order to have an extra free of charge guiding the next day i gave it to the guide but even then you didnt say a thanks at the end .
