5 stars aren't enough for the God's Pocket 6-day trip
The tour operator-owner is equally adept on land and sea. She is an excellent communicator and knows currents, wind, weather, geology, animals, birds, inter-tidal creatures etc. She, of course, is an excellent kayaker. We've been with her on 3 trips and already planning a 4th in '27.

Awesome experience
Had a great time on 4 day trip around Broken Islands group. The trip was very well organized, and the food was just phenomenal. I am used to eating ramen and instant foods on my trips, so real meals prepared with love and care were amazing. The guide Silke was incredibly knowledgeable and attentive. We saw a lot of sea life, water birds, eagles, giant trees, waves, pristine beaches, and signs of traditional native living and history. I would highly recommend this tour and the tour company.

5/5 Eagles
What could I possibly say that would encapsulate my experience kayaking around the Broken Islands. The vast ocean, the secret little beaches, along with the birds, animals, and sea life populating them. The feeling of shoving off the beach in the morning not knowing what you'll see that day. The luxurious meals. Silke's masterful guidance of this trip blew my expectations out of the water.

Wild Root Journeys/ Broken group Islands
My husband and I had wanted to go on a kayaking trip for two years, we were below average/ recreational kayakers with overall good fitness level. It took us two days to feel confident in the ocean, Silke was a great instructor for us, she is calm competent and knowledgable, We both Kayak with confidence now. This trip turned to be one of the best active trips we had ever done. Beauty of Broken group Islands is obvious and not what I focus on here. Silke is the highlight of our trip. She is knowledgable, a kind human being, a strong leader and passionate for what she does and the nature of our BC and the history of indigenous people. We came out of this trip rested, relaxed and happy because of what BC has to offer, and better people because of heart and soul that Silke offers. The food is fabulous, Silke cooks with love, guides with love and lives with love. Thank you for showings us to Broken group Islands and sharing the history of indigenous people with compassion and care. We will be back for another adventure soon!! Nasim and Ahmad, July 2024

Why this scores 56
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Guided Kayaking Adventure in the Broken Group Islands: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Vancouver Island.
How much does Guided Kayaking Adventure in the Broken Group Islands cost?
+
Prices start at $2445 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Vancouver Island usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Guided Kayaking Adventure in the Broken Group Islands take?
+
Plan for about 96 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Vancouver Island is not rushed.
Is Guided Kayaking Adventure in the Broken Group Islands worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Vancouver Island, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Guided Kayaking Adventure in the Broken Group Islands?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Guided Kayaking Adventure in the Broken Group Islands suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 16. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 96-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Guided Kayaking Adventure in the Broken Group Islands?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Vancouver Island can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Vancouver Island and add a light layer if any part of the 96-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Guided Kayaking Adventure in the Broken Group Islands start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Vancouver Island within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Vancouver Island?
+
On Outty we rank every Vancouver Island experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Whistler Tour from Vancouver + Sea to Sky Gondola + Shannon Falls, Victoria Guided Food and History Tour, Victoria Whale and Wildlife Cruise. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Vancouver Island?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Vancouver Island?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
