What you get
About this experience
Experience Stockholm in a unique way from the water. This guided kayak tour is perfect for both beginners and experienced paddlers. You can choose between our standard 3-hour city center route or a shorter 2-hour morning paddle that takes place on the outskirts of the city. Whichever option you pick, it is a relaxed and scenic way to see some of Stockholm’s most beautiful areas. Depending on the route and conditions, we paddle around places like Långholmen, Södermalm, Kungsholmen, Gamla Stan, or Lilla Essingen. You will pass under charming bridges, through calm canals, and past colorful buildings, while your guide shares stories and insights (weather permitting). It is a fun and active alternative to a walking tour and a great way to spend time outdoors. Come solo or bring friends and family for a great time on the water. We use stable tandem kayaks by default, which are ideal for beginners. If you have paddling experience, you are welcome to request a single kayak when booking.

Beautiful Stockholm.
Our tour guide was superb and organisation great. However, the tour was limited in its range and scope for seeing sights. Probably best to do a day trip if you want to see more.
Response from the operator: Hi Thomas, thanks for taking the time to leave a review, and great to hear you enjoyed the guiding from Zach. It’s a bit unfortunate in this case, as other participants arrived late and this had an impact on how much of the route the group could cover. Our Central Stockholm tour normally follows one of the longest guided kayak routes through the city, so this wasn’t quite the experience we aim to deliver. If you’re ever back in Stockholm and fancy giving it another go, just get in touch with us. We’d be happy to make you a special offer 😊

Highlight of Stockholm
Our central Stockholm kayak tour with Bobby was one of the highlights of our trip. It was perfect for beginners and novice kayakers—the guides made everyone feel comfortable and gave clear instructions before we headed out. Paddling through the city offered a completely different perspective of Stockholm. Seeing the waterfront, bridges, and historic buildings from the water was peaceful and beautiful, and it gave us an appreciation for the city that we wouldn't have gotten on foot. The fika break was another standout experience. It wasn't just coffee and a snack—it was a chance to slow down, be present, and really understand what fika means in Swedish culture. It's a refreshing contrast to the typical 15-minute coffee break many of us are used to in the U.S. I highly recommend this tour whether you're new to kayaking or just looking for a unique way to experience Stockholm.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for such a thoughtful review! We’re really happy the tour with Bobby became one of the highlights of your time in Stockholm, and that you enjoyed both seeing the city from the water and slowing down for a proper fika. It sounds like you truly understood what makes the experience special 😊

Unique way of exploring Stockholm
I went on the Kayak Tour of Stockholm this winter, and I couldn't have asked for a better time! Super professional and friendly staff, we were guided through everything and felt really safe throughout. Lots of interesting things to be learned along the way, great photo opportunities, and an excellent means of exploring the city, especially if you're visiting for the first time, but very relaxed at the same time, with good chats and good fun. Not too strenuous but satisfying, even if you have no previous kayaking experience, although having some might go a long way in helping you make the most of it. I'd warmly recommend trying it even in the winter season, which has a charm all of its own.
Response from the operator: Thank you, Maja! We're so happy you enjoyed the winter kayak tour in Stockholm. Exploring Stockholm while kayaking does have a unique charm, and we're glad you recommend it.

Why this scores 76
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Guided Kayak Tour in Central Stockholm: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Stockholm.
How much does Guided Kayak Tour in Central Stockholm cost?
+
Prices start at $74 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Stockholm usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Guided Kayak Tour in Central Stockholm take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Stockholm is not rushed.
Is Guided Kayak Tour in Central Stockholm worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 76 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 40 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Stockholm, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Guided Kayak Tour in Central Stockholm?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Guided Kayak Tour in Central Stockholm suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Guided Kayak Tour in Central Stockholm?
+
Around 14 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Stockholm can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Stockholm and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Guided Kayak Tour in Central Stockholm start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Stockholm within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Stockholm?
+
On Outty we rank every Stockholm experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Stockholm: Walking Tour of the Old Town, Best of Stockholm: Small Group Walking Tour (Max 10, 3 Hours), Vasa Museum Guided Tour, Including Ticket & Guide. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Stockholm?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Stockholm?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
