Great guide and a memorable day!
Ash was an incredible guide. Very knowledgeable and great stories. He clearly know the river well and took us to a lake to try for pike too. We had an amazing and memorable day and we were both able to catch an arctic graying. Along the drive to start, we stopped to watch moose grazing in the water and another on the way back.

Best day on the river
Such an amazing day on the river with 1Alaskatours.com. Tyson was the best guide, he helped us all to not only understand the river but to learn to fly fish and how to look for the best spots. We never felt rushed or that we were putting him out, even when we got our lines tied up. The company was on time and very professional. I would recommend that if you are coming to Fairbanks you should book a fishing trip with 1AlaskaTours.com, I would recommend the full day, you will not want to quit at the half day. Your family will thank you.

Good experience, not allowed to take fish home
We are giving only 3 stars because this trip wasn’t what we expected for an 8 hour day of fishing. Firstly, it is catch and release, so nothing to take home after fishing all day. Secondly, it is advertised as lunch is provided, but it was basically a child’s size lunchable and one bottle of water-this would have been fine for a half day trip, but not all day. That being said, our guide Caleb was great! Knowledgeable and very personable. We enjoyed having him as our guide and the scenery was beautiful as well. These trips would be much better if you were able to take fish home with you at the end of the day.

Very easy to work with.
1st Alaska Tour was very accommodating and easy to work with. Unfortunately I mixed up the timing and we were not able to book with them. But I was very pleased with their communication and how accommodating they were. If we get back to the Fairbanks area I would definitely book with them.

Wonderful experiences
My husband and I spent one day with this trip. Our fishing guide is a very professional young guy. He coach us the technical skill of how to fishing salmons, we eventually got two fishes that day which is super good for a fresh persons first fishing experience. The river is amazing place with beautiful views and very quiet. This is a excellent trip and we definitely would like to go again next time when we come to AK.

Guided Fishing Excursion in Fairbanks (Full-Day): questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Fairbanks.
How much does Guided Fishing Excursion in Fairbanks (Full-Day) cost?
+
Prices start at $340 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Fairbanks usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Guided Fishing Excursion in Fairbanks (Full-Day) take?
+
Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Fairbanks is not rushed.
Is Guided Fishing Excursion in Fairbanks (Full-Day) worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 49 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Fairbanks, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Guided Fishing Excursion in Fairbanks (Full-Day)?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Guided Fishing Excursion in Fairbanks (Full-Day) suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Guided Fishing Excursion in Fairbanks (Full-Day)?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Fairbanks can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Fairbanks and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Guided Fishing Excursion in Fairbanks (Full-Day) start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Fairbanks within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Fairbanks?
+
Fairbanks is the aurora capital of interior Alaska: heated viewing lodges, late-night chase tours, Arctic Circle day drives up the Dalton Highway, dog sledding and summer riverboat cruises. On Outty we rank every Fairbanks experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Northern Lights - Aurora with FREE Photos - Arctic Night Tours, Dog Sledding and Mushing Experience in North Pole, Fairbanks Ice Fishing Expedition in a Heated Cabin with Fish Cookout. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Fairbanks?
+
Late August to April for aurora, June to August for midnight-sun river trips. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Fairbanks?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
