Excellent tour! Nayan is a great Guide!
Superb tour! Nayan was an excellent guide. Having lived in Dharavi since his childhood, he knew most of the people and also every nook and corner of the place. The scale of commercial activities going on in Dharavi is was eye opening. Though it was a hot summer day, it was worth it, as Nayan showed is Dharavi through a different lens. Worth a trip!
Response from the operator: "Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear you had an excellent experience with Nayan. His deep connection to Dharavi and local knowledge truly help guests see the community from a unique perspective. We’re glad the tour was eye-opening and worthwhile despite the summer heat. Your kind words and recommendation mean a lot to us!"

Impressive!
We had a very nice walk throughout two main parts within the slum: the part in which they work and the part in which they live. Everything was carefully explained and the guide was super open to questions. It was really interesting and striking, it has impressed me a lot.

Exploring both the industrial and residential areas truly gives a deeper understanding of the vibrant, hardworking community within Dharavi. Our local guides are always happy to answer questions and share their knowledge — and it's wonderful to know you found the tour both interesting and impactful. Thanks again for walking with us and for your thoughtful review!

Best guide and experience in Mumbai
Awesome experience with our best guide Alkama, who brought us to Dharavi slum, making us appreciating the hard work and life of its inhabitants. He has been eager to answer all our questions, and enriched us with many information about life and work in such a complex place like Dharavi slum. We were a group of three friends. I strongly suggest the visit, also to those who feel this activity a bit odd as it helps developing those areas and give us the possibility to touch with hands the real side of things.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful review of our Group Tour of Dharavi Slum! We're delighted to hear that Alkama provided such an enriching and insightful experience. It's great to know that he answered all your questions and helped you appreciate the hard work and life of Dharavi's inhabitants. Your recommendation means a lot to us, especially as it highlights the importance of understanding and supporting these communities. We hope to welcome you and your friends on another Mumbai Dream Tour soon!

Why this scores 62
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Group Tour of Dharavi Slum walk with local Guide: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mumbai.
How much does Group Tour of Dharavi Slum walk with local Guide cost?
+
Prices start at $1200 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mumbai usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Group Tour of Dharavi Slum walk with local Guide take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mumbai is not rushed.
Is Group Tour of Dharavi Slum walk with local Guide worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 19 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Mumbai, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Group Tour of Dharavi Slum walk with local Guide?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Group Tour of Dharavi Slum walk with local Guide suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Group Tour of Dharavi Slum walk with local Guide?
+
Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mumbai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mumbai and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Group Tour of Dharavi Slum walk with local Guide start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mumbai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Mumbai?
+
On Outty we rank every Mumbai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Elephanta Caves & Island Guided Private Tour, Dharavi Slum Tour, Mumbai: Dharavi Slum & Dhobi Ghat Laundry Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Mumbai?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Mumbai?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
