A Fun Guided Tour Perfect for a Special Occasion
Overall, this was definitely a highlight to our anniversary trip to NYC. The three mystery places were chosen in the same vicinity. Our tour guide was Nate and he asked questions to get to know what kind of pizza background that we had and what types we liked, even if we were cooking pizza at home. He was very informative along the way providing history, pop culture facts, and answering questions. We just wish he would have been a little clearer about communication at the meeting places. At the one place, he said to meet him across the street; next thing you know, he was guiding some of our tour mates down the sidewalk and he did not relay a venue change to those of us on the other side of the street. We were given a wrist band, golf pencil, and pizza journal to record what we thought of each slice. I am so glad that each of the slices were plain and not loaded with different toppings due to me being a vegetarian. I also think that it was a way to keep flavor profiles even. The three places that were chosen for us were: Song e Napule, L'Industrie, and Fermento. It was great being able to have access to these places without waiting in extreme lines, like at L'Industrie. This is a unique activity that is highly recommended on a trip to NYC.

Disappointed
I was disappointed in the tour. Despite the rain, we only went to three pizza places and had three not so interesting styles of pizza: Margherita, New York, and Tavern. I had taken the Brooklyn tour before and it was much more interesting and we went to more places. This one was not worth the money.

You had Neapolitan pizza at Song e Napule, a contemporary New York slice at L'industrie, and a Bar Pie at Denino's. We always serve cheese pizza to keep our analysis as objective as possible. The most important part of our tour is the explanation of how history, science, and economics have changed pizza over the centuries so if we did not deliver on that promise I truly apologize. Let me know when you're coming back and I'll direct you to some pizzerias I think you'll love based on whatever criteria you're looking for!

Pizza Lover’s Perfect Tour
As a pizza fanatic and home chef it was impossible not to just love this experience. Our guide David was very engaging and knowledgeable on the types and history of the pizza we were eating. A super fun time….worth the price.

The right ingredients!
We had the best time with David as our pizza tour guide! He combined the exact right ingredients - energy, humor, passion for pizza, science and history to make the 2.5 hrs fly by. We were celebrating my friend's milestone birthday and he arranged for tiramisu with a candle and a full chorus of HBD from our group at our final spot. We visited John's Pizza, L'Industrie and Denino's.

A Real Pizza Adventure! Recommended!
We did a tour with David. He took us to three pizza places focusing on the history of New York style pizza from the very beginnings, to the present day, to the likely future of the art. We had a great time, loved the pizzas, and would highly recommend the tour to anyone who is a pizza lover.
