Green Grotto Caves
The fabulous Green Grotto Caves, located in Discovery Bay, Ocho Rios, Jamaica, are one of the island’s most popular attractions. Its name was derived from the signature green algae on the walls of the cave. History states that the cave was first used by the Taino Indians for the purpose of shelter; this was made clear by the discovery of cave paintings and fragments of pottery inside the cave. Runaway slaves made it their safe haven when hiding from their masters. The Spanish used the cave as a hiding place during the British Invasion in the year 1665, and they were used by smugglers to smuggle arms to Cuba. A tunnel that led to the sand made this possible. The Jamaican government also used the cave entrance as a storeroom for rum barrels toward the end of the Second World War.

Firstly, you will be transported to Dunn's River Falls, along the way the tour guide will give you a brief history of Jamaica's culture, upon reaching the Falls you will be escorted to the ticket booth of which you will receive your wrsit band to enter the park. You will commence your climb at the base of the falls at the beach with the assistance of a falls guide. You will hike to the top of the 600 feet terraced waterfall, swim in scenic lagoon, and enjoy tropical views from the top of the falls, if you wish not to get wet you can walk around the site and view the amazing foliage and water Falls while take pictures.

Wonderful and relaxing!
Our time in a Jamaica was short but thanks to this excursion we got to see the beautiful island in the best way! The history and the beauty of it all in one day. Our tour guide and driver were amazing and even took us to two extra stops! We got to have authentic food the do a lil shopping and at then end they took us up to a mountain park where we could see the whole ocho ríos bay! It was absolutely stunning! Can’t wait to go back and take my family. These guys were on time and kept up with us on communication and even had water bottles for us.
