ATV mishap
The ATV experience would have been exciting if we did not have an accident. I blame the event mostly on the tour guide. He should have watch on his rearview mirror where the rest of the “HERD” are. He was expecting us to be on a convoy on a certain distance of each other but he just accelerated thinking everybody would catch up to him resulting in the vehicles behind to be pressured to be in a rush. Though the trip went ahead even after the accident, I have to wait for my family behind me from time to time since they are not experienced off road drivers which is expected to be slower that the speed of “expert”tour guide vehicle and yet he was surprised that we could not catch up. I tried to explain to him to go slower so that nobody will be left behind but instead went faster especially on the trip back to base. Totally ignoring my plea but have the guts to ask for service tip from us which we are obliged to gave. He was the tour guide from hell! I would have loved to refer my relatives, friends and coworkers to try the experience if only you could ask the tour guide to retire already. A lot of them are waiting for my recommendations and might give Mad Moose a chance to make business. Respectfully, Alemir Almirante

Think twice before booking here
We do UTV tours everywhere we travel — it’s literally our thing — and this was by far the worst experience we’ve had with any rental company. We booked through TripAdvisor for a Red Sands tour in Hurricane, Utah. When we arrived, we were hit with a $1,500 “hold” requirement. That alone was shocking — it’s at least 3x higher than any hold we’ve ever encountered, and we’ve done a dozen+ UTV rentals across the country. We questioned it, but were reassured on-site that the hold would be released immediately after returning the vehicle. Based on our past experiences (where holds are released same day or next business day), we agreed and moved forward. That’s where things went sideways. Four days later, the $1,500 still hadn’t been returned. After calling our bank, we were told it was not processed like a typical hold at all — it was run more like a full transaction followed by a refund, meaning we’re now stuck waiting several more days to get our own money back. When we reached out to customer service, we were directed to someone named Courtney, who is apparently off-site and handles issues remotely. The interaction was incredibly frustrating. She spoke over us repeatedly, showed zero willingness to actually listen, and offered no real help other than blaming our bank. No ownership, no accountability, no attempt to resolve anything. To make matters worse: • The “hold” was not even released the same day, despite what we were told • It wasn’t processed until late the following day • And clearly, it wasn’t handled as a true authorization hold to begin with I completely understand why companies require a deposit — that’s standard. What is not acceptable is: • Charging an unusually high amount • Not being upfront about how it’s actually processed • And then failing to properly support your customer when there’s an issue At best, this feels misleading. At worst, it feels like poor internal processes that directly impact customers financially. The only bright spot in this entire experience was our guide, Nick. He was great — professional, friendly, and the only part of this company that lived up to expectations. Bottom line: Between the excessive deposit, lack of transparency, and terrible customer service, I would not recommend this company to anyone. There are plenty of other UTV operators in the area — I strongly suggest you look elsewhere.

Why this scores 63
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Greater Zion: Extreme Adrenaline UTV Tour in Sand Hollow: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for St George.
How much does Greater Zion: Extreme Adrenaline UTV Tour in Sand Hollow cost?
+
Prices start at $139 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in St George usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Greater Zion: Extreme Adrenaline UTV Tour in Sand Hollow take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in St George is not rushed.
Is Greater Zion: Extreme Adrenaline UTV Tour in Sand Hollow worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in St George, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Greater Zion: Extreme Adrenaline UTV Tour in Sand Hollow?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Greater Zion: Extreme Adrenaline UTV Tour in Sand Hollow suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Greater Zion: Extreme Adrenaline UTV Tour in Sand Hollow?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in St George can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in St George and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Greater Zion: Extreme Adrenaline UTV Tour in Sand Hollow start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central St George within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in St George?
+
St George sits below Zion National Park: guided Zion day tours, canyoneering and slot canyon trips, Snow Canyon jeep runs, and golf and hiking through red rock desert. On Outty we rank every St George experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Greater Zion: Sand Hollow Dunes ATV Tour, Greater Zion's 4 Hour Adventure Rally, Kayak/SUP Tour: Birds, Beavers, Turtles, maybe even Cliff Jumping. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit St George?
+
March to May and September to November. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in St George?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
