Grand Ocean Road
Pickup was easy, a short walk. We found this an easy way to take a road trip without hiring a car. Beware thougth, I reckon 90% of this is sitting on the coach - regretted not taking earphones. The coach was comfortable with plenty of stops for coffee, toilet and something to eat along the way. It wasnt the best day for weather but fine. Jai our driver and guide was excellent making a point to try and remember everyones name (and there was 10 of us!) he was informative, jovial and above all cared what we all have a great day. As the last on the coach he actually dropped us at our apartment. Worth if if you want to see the Great Ocean Road and surrounding country but be prepared for a long drive - around 300km.
Response from the operator: Thanks so much for the thoughtful review! We’re glad you found the Great Ocean Road Sunset Tour an easy way to explore without having to hire a car — especially with a few good stops along the way for coffee, food and bathroom breaks. And we have to give Jai some credit for remembering everyone’s names! Ten people is no small feat. 😄 It’s lovely to hear that he kept the mood light, shared plenty of information and, most importantly, made an effort to make sure everyone was having a good day. Dropping you back at your apartment at the end was a pretty nice way to finish things off too! You’re absolutely right that there’s a fair amount of time on the coach — the Great Ocean Road is a long way from Melbourne — so your tip about bringing earphones is a good one for future travellers. 😂 Sorry the weather wasn’t quite on our side, but we’re happy it didn’t stop you from enjoying the day. Thanks again for sharing such an honest review, and we hope you enjoyed the rest of your time in Melbourne! 🌊😊

Great tour guide from Go West
Raquel, thank you so much for today’s journey to the Twelve Apostles. Even though the weather wasn’t good and we couldn’t take the helicopter ride, you still made the trip truly special. You shared so much helpful information and history, and your kindness and professionalism really stood out.Because of you, we had a memorable and meaningful experience.
Response from the operator: Thanks so much for your lovely review! We’re really glad that, even with the weather not quite playing along, you still had such a memorable day on the Great Ocean Road with Raquel. It’s a shame the helicopter ride couldn’t go ahead, but we’re happy Raquel was able to make the rest of the day special. Her knowledge, kindness and professionalism really do make a difference, and it’s wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the stories and history she shared along the way. We’ll definitely pass your kind words on to Raquel. We’re sure she’ll be very happy to know that she helped turn a less-than-perfect-weather day into such a meaningful experience. Thanks again for joining us and for sharing your experience. We hope to see you again on another Melbourne adventure someday! 😊

Why this scores 93
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Great Ocean Road Full-Day Sunset Eco Tour from Melbourne: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Melbourne.
How much does Great Ocean Road Full-Day Sunset Eco Tour from Melbourne cost?
+
Prices start at $116 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Melbourne usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Great Ocean Road Full-Day Sunset Eco Tour from Melbourne take?
+
Plan for about 11 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Melbourne is not rushed.
Is Great Ocean Road Full-Day Sunset Eco Tour from Melbourne worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 93 out of 100, which we label "90+ Club". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 1,250 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Melbourne, and how flexible the cancellation terms are. Scoring 90 or above puts it in the Outty 90+ Club, the top tier of everything we rank.
Can I cancel or reschedule Great Ocean Road Full-Day Sunset Eco Tour from Melbourne?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Great Ocean Road Full-Day Sunset Eco Tour from Melbourne suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 11-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Great Ocean Road Full-Day Sunset Eco Tour from Melbourne?
+
Around 438 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Melbourne can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Melbourne and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Great Ocean Road Full-Day Sunset Eco Tour from Melbourne start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Melbourne within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Melbourne?
+
On Outty we rank every Melbourne experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Melbourne: Yarra Valley Wine, Gin, Whisky and Chocolate Tour, Yarra Valley Wine Tour w Exclusive Gin, Cider & Chocolate Tasting, Yarra Valley Wine Tour from Melbourne - Choc, Gin & Good Times. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Melbourne?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Melbourne?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
