    Wonderful tour!

I usually travel solo and plan my own itinerary. However, I wanted to see as much of the natural area around Melbourne as possible in a very short span of time. This trip was 10/10 for me. The group size was not too large, we had a total of 18. The youngest was an 18 yo oldest was an 84 yo. The Itinerary was such that it didn’t matter how old the person was they could still participate as little or as much as they want. Our tour guide, J-dog, was absolutely wonderful. She was sincere, enthusiastic, kind, and so much fun. The itinerary was jam-packed, but I felt the amount of time that was dedicated to each activity was appropriate. The food was mostly at restaurants with a home style BBQ one night. I would highly recommend this tour and would go with Wildlife Adventures again. My travel end up back in Melbourne, our driver was Bones. What a great a guy, I could see he would have been a fun guide as well. So if you want you don’t have a week to dedicate to seeing these sights, consider this tour for sure!

Response from the operator: G'Day! We are so glad you took a chance on us and booked our 3 Day Great Ocean Road and Grampians tour! We love that you enjoyed a more private, small group size and you got to experience such special moments with our guide. Kindest Regards, Wildlife tours.

A Wonderful Experience and a Wonderful Guide

This tour may well be the best run and most enjoyable excursion we have ever been a part of. Our tour to the Great Ocean Road and the Grampians National Park began on Feb 15th. On Feb 14th, very sadly, the Grampians region was hit by a wind storm and powerful thunderstorms which tore up trees and ignited forest fires with many homes lost as the region dealt with one of it's biggest emergencies in years. In the hours leading up to the beginning of the tour we received an email advising us that the situation regarding our itinerary was very fluid and that visiting the Grampians would likely not be possible. Our incredible guide, Janet "J-Dog" Archibald, in consultation with Wildlife Tours took this bag of lemons that fate had handed us and made the best lemonade ever. She recast this setback as an opportunity to explore some locations that we would not normally have time to see. Janet knows the state of Victoria like the back of her hand and we were all swept up by her enthusiasm as she told story after story and got us to amazing locations with time to explore at length. By the end of the first day our group had become the best of friends and this tour was the highlight of our time in Australia. I highly recommend this tour and our guide Janet. On day three we were joined by Chris who also knows his stuff and made our trip memorable.

Response from the operator: Hi There, We are so thrilled to hear you still had the best time on tour with us dispite the Grampians being closed. We are incredibly lucky to have Janet with us here at Autopia and are so glad she was able to give you all such a great trip! We hope to see you again soon! Shania

skip and avoid this tour operator (autopia tours)

Had an awful experience with them and their customer service is terrible also. Go with any other company other than this one.

Response from the operator: Hi Orrie, I'm sorry to hear about your experience. This is definitely not the type of feedback we wish to receive and would appreciate it if you could get in touch with us directly if you want to discuss this matter further. Kind regards, Iza

Do yourself a favor, rent a car and enjoy the ride

For the amount you pay for a family and after that being split up at night to accommodate solo travellers, separate couples!!! .. not worth it. Rent a car and do it on your own. It will cost you a fraction of this, you will see more things and eat better ( you have to pay most of your meals anyways) and you won’t have to be charged extra for nothing! Btw, hurry up at breakfast.. they might run out of bread!! And if you encounter a problem, Viator won’t be there to help you!

Great Ocean Road Grampians 3 Day National Park Tour Melbourne Roundtrip: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Melbourne.

How much does Great Ocean Road Grampians 3 Day National Park Tour Melbourne Roundtrip cost?

    +

Prices start at $602 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Melbourne usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Great Ocean Road Grampians 3 Day National Park Tour Melbourne Roundtrip take?

    +

Plan for about 72 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Melbourne is not rushed.

Is Great Ocean Road Grampians 3 Day National Park Tour Melbourne Roundtrip worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 50 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Melbourne, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Great Ocean Road Grampians 3 Day National Park Tour Melbourne Roundtrip?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Great Ocean Road Grampians 3 Day National Park Tour Melbourne Roundtrip suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 72-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Great Ocean Road Grampians 3 Day National Park Tour Melbourne Roundtrip?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Melbourne can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Melbourne and add a light layer if any part of the 72-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Great Ocean Road Grampians 3 Day National Park Tour Melbourne Roundtrip start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Melbourne within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Melbourne?

    +

On Outty we rank every Melbourne experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Melbourne: Yarra Valley Wine, Gin, Whisky and Chocolate Tour, Yarra Valley Wine Tour w Exclusive Gin, Cider & Chocolate Tasting, Yarra Valley Wine Tour from Melbourne - Choc, Gin & Good Times. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Melbourne?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Melbourne?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
