Located along the Marne surrounded by the wine hills it is Home to many region’s most prestigious champagne houses. Épernay is a must for wine and champagne lovers. 13:40-14:10: Visit the Abbey's Church of Saint-Sindulphe of the Abbey Saint-Pierre d'Hautvillers. It is a former Benedictine monastery. The Abbey was founded in 665 and remained active till the French Revolution 1789. Dom Perignon has developed the wine making methods in the region of Champagne. Nowadays there are 26 local Champagne producers in the village. Stop at the View point with best Panoramic views over the vineyards and Marne river. 14:10: Departure to Reims. Champagne Trip!
Our driver was great - quiet for the most part but gave us a great and safe drive to Champagne. We did the moet and vueve houses and the driver stopped at a few sights along the way. It was a great way to see outside of Paris and enjoy champagne at the same time. If you’re looking for something different to do while in Paris that includes drinks I recommend this trip.
