Granada: Alhambra Gardens, Generalife and Alcazaba Ticket & Guide

Dishonest business. Do not trust for tickets.

This business misleads on tickets and pretends they have secured tickets when they have not. I strongly recommend avoiding given they are untrustworthy. My terrible experience: --I received confirmation of my Alhambra booking. --At 8pm the day before, I was asked if I had flexibility to move my Alhambra appointment from 9am to 5pm to accommodate another tourist. I said okay. The company did not reveal at this time that they did not have 5pm tickets in possession. --At 11pm they confirmed we are ready to go tomorrow and will learn our guide's name in the morning. They did not reveal at this time that they did not have tickets in possession. -- At 8:30am the day of they send a message saying the ticket website is down which is a fluke and that they can't get the tickets until it's up again. --I go to the official Alhambra ticket office at noon, and they reveal not only 5pm tickets were never booked, but they have no idea who this company is. They also said their computers were never down. --I followed up with the company. They admitted that they "normally" and "almost always" can get tickets the day of -- meaning, this was a gamble and they hid from me that they didn't have the tickets in possession when asking me to switch tours. They also admitted that it's a third party website they use and that it goes down during high tourist season, so this wasn't an out of the blue occurrence they couldn't have anticipated -- They offered a tour the next day, but I was going to be flying out of the country the next day --They offered a garden tour the same day, but I didn't go to Granada to see the garden, I went to see Alhambra. 500 dollars round trip to get to Granada was wasted. --If they had let me know this was a gamble ticket and that there was no guarantee securing it the day of, I wouldn't be furious. However, because they left out this crucial information, I didn't prepare for backup options like checking the real website at midnight, arriving before the ticket box opened in person to potentially secure tickets, or look into other companies who had tickets secured. This is what makes me really mad. I'm sure the company will write back they they are "very sorry," that it's my fault for trying to book late during high season, and that their alternative offering, (which is not the tour I wanted) makes up for all of this. The fact of the matter is they significantly misled me, and an alternate garden tour doesn't make up for it. Do business with this organization at your own risk.

Did not provide what we paid for

We purchased tickets for a morning entry into Nasrid palaces which we double checked with them was available as we had a train to catch that day and they gave us an entry time after noon which was after our train would depart. They admitted to adjusting our entry time (without asking us first) and refused to issue a refund.

Scam

Literally this is a scam, I got to la Alhambra and they keep saying that the are working to get my ticket (which never happened) i had to call the bank so they help me to solve it

Be aware of massive changes to the booked times

Be aware that the time of the activity can unilaterally change last minute up to +- 4-5 hours, which is totally unacceptable. Upon booking I was made aware of this provision in the small print. Upon notification I immediately stated that I wasn’t able to anticipate my arrival by more than 1 hour, but that on the other hand I was extremely flexible as to the language of the tour. Taken note of my prompt reaction my plea was taken note of, but short before midnight of the day before the tour I was told the tour would take place 1 1/2 hours before the booking time. We managed to organise ourselves accordingly, missing out on a relaxing morning stroll at our previous destination. The tour itself was excellent with an amazing guide. All participants had booked for the same time as I did and were struggling to make it to the anticipated time. I did several guided tours in all at major sightseeing places (Rome, Florence, Paris, Seville, Istanbul, Athens, Córdoba… ) and never, no single time, the time of booking has been changed! Wouldn’t it have been for the exceptional guide who earns a full 5stars I’d rated this activity even less. This practice is absolutely unacceptable.

AVOID! SCAM! See attached screenshots

ABSOLUTE SCAMMERS! DO NOT BOOK THE ALHAMBRA TOUR WITH THIS COMPANY! THEY SELL TICKETS THEY DO NOT HAVE! I booked a guided tour of Alhambra including Nasrid palaces (the main attraction) for my wife and I and paid over £100 for each ticket. At 11:17pm the night before we were due to go, they messaged last minute (screenshots attached) likely thinking I would be asleep. They basically said they only have one ticket at the scheduled time at 12:30pm that I booked even though I paid for 2 tickets. They were cheeky enough to mention an alternate is my wife and I go at 9:30pm to just visit the gardens (and not the main attraction of Nasrid palaces!!!). This was ludicrous and not the experience we booked and paid for and certainly not the time we chose either We planned our whole Spain trip around this booked date for Alhambra and were working around this. We rushed back from Seville back to our hotel base in Málaga for Alhambra only to be told last minute at 11;17pm about the situation. They are selling tickets they do not have access to. This has ruined our holiday entirely and has left my wife extremely upset as this was meant to be the highlight of our trip. You can see from the screenshots the audacity of the message they wrote. Furthermore, as per the screenshots, absolutely no response to my messages or phone calls which is highly worrying for a supposed tour company and extremely unprofessional. Please save yourself the hassle and DO NOT BOOK with them. It will save you ruining a trip

Response from the operator: Dear customers, we are sorry to hear about this. Your tickets were purchased well in advance, but unfortunately, due to a technical error, one of the two tickets was not purchased. We have received confirmation from the Alhambra offices that the purchase process for the missing ticket was not completed due to a connection interruption with the servers. This meant that the purchase was not completed effectively. To apologize, we have attempted to make up for this by offering you a new solution with a different time and a full refund. Sometimes things can go wrong (in all areas), but we have tried our best. We thank you for your feedback, even if we consider it exaggerated (two reviews from the same profile), and we wish you the best.
