    What you'll see and do

    1. Thingvellir National Park

Thingvellir National Park (Þingvellir in Icelandic) is one of Iceland’s most famous and historically significant sites. Þingvellir as a must-see stop: Walk between two continents. Explore the birthplace of Iceland’s parliament. Enjoy breathtaking scenery and history in one place.

      30 minutes here

    2. Geysir

Geysir, in Iceland’s famous geothermal valley, is the hot spring that gave its name to all geysers worldwide. While the Great Geysir itself is now mostly dormant, its lively neighbor Strokkur erupts every 5–10 minutes, shooting boiling water up to 30 meters (98 feet) into the sky. Visitors can walk among bubbling mud pots, steaming vents, and colorful hot springs, experiencing the raw geothermal power that makes Iceland so unique. The area smells faintly of sulfur, adding to the otherworldly atmosphere, and it’s a perfect spot for dramatic photos and videos of Strokkur’s explosive eruptions.

      30 minutes here

    3. Gullfoss Falls

Gullfoss, meaning “Golden Falls”, is one of Iceland’s most breathtaking natural wonders and a highlight of the Golden Circle tour. This powerful two-tier waterfall plunges dramatically into a rugged canyon, creating thundering roars, misty sprays, and—on sunny days—magical rainbows arching across the falls. Standing at the viewing platforms, visitors feel the raw force of Iceland’s natural energy as the glacial Hvítá River crashes down 32 meters into the gorge. In summer, the surrounding landscape is lush and green, while in winter, the waterfall is framed by sparkling ice formations, offering a completely different but equally stunning experience.

      30 minutes here

    4. Kerid Crater

Kerið, a volcanic caldera with its vivid red slopes and blue water.

Excellent Tour, Even on a Tight Schedule

We had a wonderful experience in Reykjavik! Despite our tight schedule, the guide managed to make the tour enjoyable, informative, and well organised. The guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and very considerate of our limited time, making sure we got to see and experience as much as possible without feeling rushed. We managed to cover thingvellir national park where the two continents pull apart, the geyser erupting geothermal hot spring, and finally the super powerful Gullfoss and ofcourse blue lagoon (from outside) The tour was really well planned, he was on time to pick us from the port and everything ran smoothly from start to finish. We truly appreciated the effort and professionalism of Teka Nigusse’s team.Highly recommended for anyone visiting Iceland, especially if you’re travelling on a tight schedule!

Thank you for your kind words about our guide, punctuality, organization, and professionalism. Excellent pre-scheduled airport transfer

We had our airport transfer prescheduled with the company and Teka Nigussie Gebru was our driver. He was extremely professional, contacting us ahead of schedule, ensuring we could contact him about any changes, and even coming ahead of time when we let him know that we are all ready and packed! He drove smoothly and safely and ensured we reached the airport in good time. Moreover, he was one of the most gracious and friendly drivers ! Thank you, Teka!

Golden Circle Discovery Þingvellir, Geysir, Gullfoss and Kerið: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Reykjavik.

How much does Golden Circle Discovery Þingvellir, Geysir, Gullfoss and Kerið cost?

    +

Prices start at $1000 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Reykjavik usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Golden Circle Discovery Þingvellir, Geysir, Gullfoss and Kerið take?

    +

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Reykjavik is not rushed.

Is Golden Circle Discovery Þingvellir, Geysir, Gullfoss and Kerið worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Reykjavik, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Golden Circle Discovery Þingvellir, Geysir, Gullfoss and Kerið?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Golden Circle Discovery Þingvellir, Geysir, Gullfoss and Kerið suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Golden Circle Discovery Þingvellir, Geysir, Gullfoss and Kerið?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Reykjavik can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Reykjavik and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Golden Circle Discovery Þingvellir, Geysir, Gullfoss and Kerið start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Reykjavik within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Reykjavik?

    +

On Outty we rank every Reykjavik experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Reykjavik Food Walk - Local Foodie Adventure in Iceland, Small-Group Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon with Ticket & Kerid Crater, Reykjavík Small group Walking Tour - by CityWalk. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Reykjavik?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Reykjavik?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
