Excellent Private Tour with Incredible Wealth of Knowledge
We had a fantastic time on our private tour of Hollywood. David is a true wealth of knowledge, and I couldn’t believe how much he knew about both current pop culture, as well as the history of Hollywood and the Golden Age stars (my interest!). He adapted the tour to our interests, our end point (Musso and Frank’s for a historical Hollywood dinner), kids’ interests, and even bathroom breaks! David picked us up in a meticulously clean SUV and even had a booster seat my son could sit in. He took us to the Hollywood sign, where normal tour buses can’t go, and got lovely photos of us there. We continued to drive around and learn about the history of the area and film industry, as well as current goings-on in the LA area. We cruised around Beverly Hills to view some current and former celebrity homes, and we were impressed both by where we could go as a private car (vs a typical tour bus), as well as David’s respectfulness to the residents and area. We wanted to pack in lots of LA landmarks and history for the kiddos, and we certainly did that! And I just couldn’t get over how much David knew, no matter what question we asked. Highly recommend this tour!
Response from the operator: What an amazing review on so many levels. Tours in a city like Los Angeles can truly make or break a visitors experience. We are proud to be the #1 private tour company in Los Angeles for over 20 years. Our guides have decades of knowledge in and around our great city. We pride ourselves in providing an experience for each guest... whether 1-years old, or 101 years-old. Truly, we cater to each and every private tour as your review points out. MOST IMPORTANTLY, SO, SO VERY HAPPY YOU EXPERIENCED THE MUSSO & FRANK GRILL in Hollywood. Going strong since 1919. Those walls truly do talk...along with the waiters that were there during the Golden Age of Hollywood. - JM

Excellent spring break!!
Joe was an excellent, knowledgeable tour guide that tailored the experience to our tastes as our daughter is a Golden Era of Hollywood buff! Learned a lot, got familiarized and ready to explore more!
Response from the operator: Thank you for the kind words and I'll be sure to share with Joe.

Why this scores 53
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Golden Age of Hollywood Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Los Angeles.
How much does Golden Age of Hollywood Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $341 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Los Angeles usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Golden Age of Hollywood Tour take?
+
Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Los Angeles is not rushed.
Is Golden Age of Hollywood Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Los Angeles, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Golden Age of Hollywood Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Golden Age of Hollywood Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Golden Age of Hollywood Tour?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Los Angeles can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Los Angeles and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Golden Age of Hollywood Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Los Angeles within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Los Angeles?
+
Los Angeles rewards travellers who cluster their bookings by geography rather than by theme. Studio tours and Hollywood walks sit inland, the Malibu and Santa Monica coast runs west, and Griffith Observatory and the canyon hikes work best at dawn or dusk. We weight transport clarity in the ranking here: whether pickup is included changes an LA day more than the tour itself. On Outty we rank every Los Angeles experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hollywood Sign 2.5-Hour Tour with Comedians and Their Dogs, Los Angeles Hollywood Sign Hike: Front, Behind, and Expert Guide, Los Angeles Original 90-Minute Walking Tour to The Hollywood Sign. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Los Angeles?
+
March to May and September to November, for clear air and open canyon roads. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Los Angeles?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
