    Loved this tour!

What a wonderful experience in Giethoorn with Sven! We loved the slow pace and the beautiful countryside. Sven was very polite and attentive and made sure all of our needs were met. This trip was well worth the cost!

    Trip To Giethoorn

I booked a “private transportation and tour” to Giethoorn, but the experience did not match what was advertised. The transportation itself was private, but no actual tour was provided. The driver did not act as a guide in any way—there was no explanation, no commentary, and no interaction during the 3-hour drive. We were simply dropped off and later picked up. Additionally, the boat ride in Giethoorn was not private as expected. Instead, we were placed on a large group boat with around 30 other people, which completely defeats the purpose of booking a “private” experience. Overall, this felt very misleading. What was sold as a private tour ended up being just transportation plus a crowded group boat ride. I strongly recommend confirming all details before booking, as this was not the experience we paid for.

Response from the operator: Dear Customer, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that the tour did not meet your expectations. This experience was booked and delivered as a private tour with a professional driver-guide. Our driver-guides are specifically trained to act as both driver and tour guide. There is no separate dedicated guide included in this tour experience, as mentioned in our product description. Despite this, in order to enhance your tour experience, our driver-guide went beyond the standard itinerary by arranging a separate local guide for the boat trip. Therefore, we respectfully disagree with the statement that the service was misleading or not delivered as advertised. This is a tour experience we operate regularly with many satisfied guests, and the same experience was provided in your case as well. Thank you again for your feedback. Kind regards, Safar Limousines Service Team

Great finale to a super trip

Was in Amsterdam for a short break. Went here on the penultimate day. We got lucky, the weather was clear when we were there. The place is out of a story book. The houses really look to be from a movie set. Our driver and tour guide was Danny. He was unbelievable. Vehicle came well on time and it was nice and clean. He was extremely polite and knowledgeable. He kept us entertained on the drive to and back. The boat ride was amazing. The best one hour we spent here. We also walked around the village and took in the beauty. This is a must do and this team is highly recommended. Reliable, knowledgable and extremely polite.

Giethoorn Private Tour & Boat Trip From Amsterdam: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Amsterdam.

How much does Giethoorn Private Tour & Boat Trip From Amsterdam cost?

    +

Prices start at $103 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Amsterdam usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Giethoorn Private Tour & Boat Trip From Amsterdam take?

    +

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Amsterdam is not rushed.

Is Giethoorn Private Tour & Boat Trip From Amsterdam worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 31 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Amsterdam, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Giethoorn Private Tour & Boat Trip From Amsterdam?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Giethoorn Private Tour & Boat Trip From Amsterdam suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Giethoorn Private Tour & Boat Trip From Amsterdam?

    +

Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Amsterdam can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Amsterdam and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Giethoorn Private Tour & Boat Trip From Amsterdam start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Amsterdam within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Amsterdam?

    +

On Outty we rank every Amsterdam experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Amsterdam Canal Cruise with Local Guide and Small Group, Guided Bike Tour of Amsterdam's Highlights & Hidden Gems, Amsterdam: Luxury Canal Cruise including Cocktails & Snacks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Amsterdam?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Amsterdam?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
