What you'll see and do
Carrickfergus Castle
Heading north on the M1 from Dublin we take the Mourne coast road. On your right is the Irish Sea and to the left the magnificent Mourne mountains. Our first stop is the port of Carrick Fergus. Along with its famous castle, Carrick Fergus is steeped in history. Take a tour of the castle and hear of the many wars it was involved in. In 1778, during the American war of independence, Captain John Paul Jones tried and failed to capture the port due to the considerable defense of the castle. Hear how he returned a few days later in his ship the “Ranger” and challenged the British Flagship “HMS Drake” to open battle, a battle Captain Jones won emphatically. From Carrickfergus we head further north to the causeway itself, along the way you will see the dramatic coastline of east Ulster eroded over the years by the relentless aggression of the Irish sea.

Giant's Causeway
When you reach the Causeway (The 8th Wonder of the world) you will marvel at nature’s wonders. See the perfectly formed Hexagonal shaped rock pillars rise side by side to a height of 40 feet, see the stunning lava cliffs rise dramatically from the sea. Hear the stories of the giants Fionn McCool of Ireland and Benandonner of Scotland and their many engagements and how they used the causeway as stepping stones to do battle with each other.

Bushmills Distillery
(The Bushmills Distillery is temporary closed until the end of 2021) In the small village of Bushmills, settled on the banks of the river you'll find the oldest working distillery in Ireland. A place where family and friends have worked for generations, in a small Northern Irish village that for over 400 years has kept to the philosophy that hand crafting small batches is the way to produce beautifully smooth tasting Irish whiskey.

Dunluce Castle
The iconic ruin of Dunluce Castle bears witness to a long and tumultuous history. First built on the dramatic coastal cliffs of north County Antrim by the MacQuillan family around 1500, the earliest written record of the castle was in 1513.

Carrick A Rede Rope Bridge
Connected to the cliffs by a rope bridge across the Atlantic Ocean, Carrick-a-Rede Island is home to a single building - a fisherman's cottage. Suspended almost 100 ft (30 m) above sea level, the rope bridge was first erected by salmon fisherman 350 years ago.

Nice tour of Northern Ireland
Tour guide Liam was good. Had issues with headset for the first half of drive so those of us in the back of the van heard nothing. Have never been on a private tour that didn't prebuy tickets or at least tell you they weren't included and what stops needed tickets. Luckily it was low season so we were able to get in. Would have not been a good trip if we didn't have tickets. The sights were beautiful.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on your Giant's Causeway Luxury Private Day Tour. We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful sights and that Liam contributed positively to your experience. We apologise for any confusion regarding admission tickets, but it is mentioned in the Itinerary of the booking that admission tickets are not included. Thank you again for your valuable feedback, and we hope to have the opportunity to provide you with an even better experience in the future. Dublin Chauffeur Services Team

Service at its finest!
Five star service from start to finish. The moment I made an inquiry, to booking reservations and then first experience, the level of service has been exceptional. No hassles, easy to communicate and knowledgeable staff helped answer questions, strategize and seamlessly create a wonderful experience. I traveled in style, elegantly, easily and best of all without pretense. Cliff was my driver for the day. I couldn’t ask for a better driver who was a perfect gentleman and also very knowledgeable and kind. I felt very comfortable and the drive was executed with exacting precision. I look forward to future bookings and highly recommend! Coming from Manhattan, NYC , I am very happy to have made this connection!
Response from the operator: Thank you for the 5 star review! We will let Cliff know you left him such a great review. We look forward to serving you again in the future. Kind regards DCS Team

Why this scores 59
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Giant's Causeway Luxury Private Day Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Dublin.
How much does Giant's Causeway Luxury Private Day Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $1770 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Dublin usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Giant's Causeway Luxury Private Day Tour take?
+
Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Dublin is not rushed.
Is Giant's Causeway Luxury Private Day Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 16 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Dublin, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Giant's Causeway Luxury Private Day Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Giant's Causeway Luxury Private Day Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Giant's Causeway Luxury Private Day Tour?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Dublin can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Dublin and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Giant's Causeway Luxury Private Day Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Dublin within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Dublin?
+
On Outty we rank every Dublin experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Dublin to Cliffs of Moher, including Wild Atlantic Way and Galway, Dublin Highlights and Hidden Gems Guided Walking Tour, The Little Museum of Dublin Famous Guided Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Dublin?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Dublin?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
