    Great time in Chengdu

Our tour guide Veronica and our driver Mr Li were excellent. The Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding was amazing! This is a must-see for any tourists visiting Chengdu, providing the weather allows! We had a nice lunch at Nanniwan Environmental Hotpot and then continued our tour to the Leshan Giant Buddha, and would recommend upgrading to the boat tour for better views and less walking! The entire day was entertaining, informative, and enjoyable. Veronica was extremely knowledgeable and pleasant to be around! This tour package was a great way to spend the day!

Response from the operator: Dear Zoltan, thank you very much for appreciation of our guide, driver and service. Your pleasure is always the forever goal we chased. Welcome to China again, and welcome to take service of China Exploration again!

    Walking Encyclopedia

Our group would like to thank China Exploration for making our visit to Chengdu a memorable one. We would also like to thank our guide, Sara Zhou. Ms. Zhou is a "walking encyclopedia" of Pandas. She says there are about 1900 pandas in the wild. In the place we visited, the Chendu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, there are 757 Giant Pandas. She could easily identify 500 of them by just showing her their pictures. Amazing! Anyway, she is also very kind, helpful and patient. She happily guided us to the crowded Jinli street. Jinli Street was ranked 1st among the "world's most beautiful streets" published by CNN Travel in 2019. Last, but not the least- Sara speaks fluent English. English is rarely spoken in China and it is very difficult to communicate with the locals. Sara made it easy for us to communicate with the Chinese locals. I would highly recommend her to every English speaking tourist who would want to visit Chengdu someday. Xiexie ni Sara! Xiexie ni China Exploration! - George, Jenny, Joanne and Arcadio. Xo ai ni China from the Philippines!

Response from the operator: Dear George, Jenny, Joanne and Arcadio, it is our great pleasure to receive your extremely high comment of Sara, undoubtedly your kindness is a great encouragement to our works. To bring happiness to our clients is alway the target of China Exploration. Hope to meet you again.

    Our tour guide, Sarah,...

Our tour guide, Sarah, was magnificent. She explained everything very well, gave us incredible facts and answered every single question we had with a smile. She was extremely enthusiastic and passionate. We loved having her as our tour guide and having her take us everywhere, making sure we were comfortable and trying to accommodate any request we may have had. It was an amazing experience. We truly cannot recommend this tour with her enough.

Response from the operator: Many thanks for booking of China Exploration, and it is really our great pleasure to offer you our service. Hope to see you next time soon!

Giant Panda and Leshan Buddha Day Trip from Chengdu: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Chengdu.

How much does Giant Panda and Leshan Buddha Day Trip from Chengdu cost?

    +

Prices start at $198 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Chengdu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Giant Panda and Leshan Buddha Day Trip from Chengdu take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Chengdu is not rushed.

Is Giant Panda and Leshan Buddha Day Trip from Chengdu worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Chengdu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Giant Panda and Leshan Buddha Day Trip from Chengdu?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Giant Panda and Leshan Buddha Day Trip from Chengdu suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Giant Panda and Leshan Buddha Day Trip from Chengdu?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Chengdu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Chengdu and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Giant Panda and Leshan Buddha Day Trip from Chengdu start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Chengdu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Chengdu?

    +

On Outty we rank every Chengdu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Chengdu Cooking Class with a Local Market Visit, Private Chengdu Day Tour: Giant Pandas and Jinsha Site Museum, Tuktuk Food Tour Through Chengdu's Local Eats. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Chengdu?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Chengdu?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
